So, the worst has happened… my 4 day old tattoo is leaking yellow and is red around the outside of the design. I’m waiting for a GP appointment and my also for my tattoist to reply to my message (I live too far from the studio to drop in and see her). In the meantime, can anyone share their best tips for caring for an infected tattoo? Since spotting the ooze I’ve washed it with lukewarm water and patted dry, then just left it. I’m too scared to put any lotion or ointment or anything on it. I was using the tattoo cream my tattooist gave me but switched to coconut oil last night when the redness first came out (this was before any yellow pus).
I’m in the UK, in case that helps with any recommendations for what to put on the tattoo.
