I got my tattoo about three days ago and I followed all of my tattoo artist’s rules but I was wondering if there was anything else I should do. I didn’t let water hit it directly in the shower and it was cool water when I hand washed it with anti-bacterial, I didn’t recover it, and I have been applying just a plain fragrance free lotion starting two days after getting my tattoo. Now my tattoo feels rough and I is making my skin feel tight and it is kind of peeling and I’m afraid it is going to effect the color and design. I hope that that is supposed to happen but does it go away on its own or is there something you should do because it is near my waist on my pants and my jeans kind of rub against it ligthly. When can a person go back to their normal routine like being in the sun, hot showers, swimming, hot tubs, etc.

i think you wait 2-3 weeks before swimming and hot tub use. same with the sun….and use a high sunscreen on it to perserve the coloring. i was told to be careful with tight clothing or rough cloth like jeans, but i think that was just the first few days. the tightness and itchy is normal…the first few days you should use A&D or blackcat. that helps the healing.
i would be careful about those jeans rubbing during the first few days…but i dont think it will ruin it (i could be wrong but it think its the first few hours after that are the most sensitive)…
    enjoy!
