Hey guys this is my first tattoo several hours after it was done:
I’ve now had it for about 5 days & it looks like it’s going through hell – it’s incredibly itchy and irritated and there are black bits coming off it etc etc. I’m pretty sure this is normal? Also, is it possible to over-moisturize a tattoo? Because I’ve been applying lots & lots of Bepanthen lotion whenever it’s itchy or whenever I feel bits coming off. Maybe I’ve been applying too much? Please help – I’ve been getting mixed messages on how to treat it (“don’t let it dry out”, “keep it dry”, “keep it moist”, “don’t moisturize too much”)

Hey Katelouise.. i use bepanthen on mine too… ive also had the same thing happen! Its fairly normal for the excess ink to fall of.. nowt to worry about. It may even look faded as the new layer of skin grows but shud darken back up in a few weeks. i only use the bepanthen for the first 3 to 4 days.. then just use whatever moisturiser i find lying around the house lol!
I did use bepanthen years ago & then covered it with cling film.. kept it covered too long & the excess ink went to mush!! scared the shit outa me lol but it was fine once fully healed!

Jesus Christ Monkey balls!!! whats with all the questions!!!! lmao… Vaseline intensive care is well recommended which i have in my drawer at work… hahaha actually one of the lads at work wrote on it: ‘Thrashers fag cream… makes my arse 100% smoother!’ so its now what i call it!!! lmao Were a bunch of messers really! anyway when i was at home i just used some of Mrs Thrashers moisturiser.. it was… 2 secs while i read it lol.. SIMPLE rich moisturiser. its non perfumed etc so did a fine job! Hope this helps!!
