I got a colored tattoo three days ago. It’s now in the peeling stage of healing. In some small sections of the tattoo, I can see my natural skin color instead of the ink. It kind of has a “milky” look. Is this normal, or has my tattoo lost some of its color?
It’s not a huge deal if it has, because I can get it retouched for free sometime, but I’m just new to the tattoo experience.
The best advice for right now is to chill man. It’s very, very, very hard to tell what a tattoo actually looks like when it’s peeling. What you need to do is to keep lotioning it as much as possible, and follow the after care instructions you were given. A tattoo takes a minimum of two weeks to heal up, and until that point you don’t know how it’s going to turn out.
On the other hand, if after two weeks you don’t like how it looks, it’s touch up time.
Love. Peace. Metallica.
Hi
As KH said it takes time for the ink to settle into the skin.
The main thing is keep an eye on the milky areas if they start to weep or show signs of red streaks you have an infection and need to get some anti-biotics asap.
If it just remains milky until peeled you will be fine just keep it very clean and lotion it regular.
I am sure it will all look sweet when it is finished.
Take Care
