Hi everyone just had a question about health as far as healing tattoos. I have had some health problems for the past 9 years and my doctors are now telling me that i might be anemic and have ulcers, they also mentioned there is a good chance that my immune system is shot. I find this funny because i was always wondering why it takes me 2 – 3 months to heal a tattoo. Now my question is if i start getting my touch ups done will they be able to heal properly or should i wait until my immune system is better?
The biggest thing with the immune system is being able to fight off infection. Personally, I would try to wait and allow yourself to build your immune system some more to be able to insure that you don’t get some sort of infection after the work is done, but that is just my opinion. Proper after care, shouldn’t be a problem, but why take the chance.
i would wait a while longer .
some of our forum users will be able to help and explain things more to you .
Hi
You really need to wait for your immune system to build back up.
I have had a similar issue and the reason is that the body treats the pigment of tattoo ink as a foreign body that is invading the body.
The white blood cells rush to the scene and try and force the pigment from the body – this causes the mild fever that sometimes ppl get after a tattoo. The pigment is then held in little pockets of scar tissue that locks the foreign body from the rest of the blood stream (holding the tattoo in place).
If you are ill the body will not clot as well as it should and that then leaves the wound open to infection and possible septicaemia.
The ink can also be forced out more easily as your body is not sealing the pigment in as the wound closes.
Take Care
Matthew
