the tatoo is on my calf and it takes almost a half of it. it’s the second day that I had it, I did it on the 13th and today it’s the 15th. i’m obsessive with the aftercare and i’m using bepanthen. it’s my first couloured tattoo. the problem is that is still oozing this water-like, clear liquid, like a wound that won’t heal. there are traces of blood in it, but minimal. the tatoo is not red on the edges and it’s not itching and it’s not paniful… not too much, i man, it’s the normal pain you feel after a tattoo, that’s why i hope it’s not infected or other serious things. but i would like to know if it’s normal that there is this liquid. my other tattoos have always been dry during the aftercare. this one is still oozing that “water”. is it normal? thanks a lot for helping, if you need any other detail please ask and i’ll try to be as more specific as possibl. sorry for bad english. thanks.

ok, i found a topic about that, but they say it’s infection, not plasma!!! but still, that guy has the tattoo oozing that liquid frrom 10 days, i’m barely at the end of the second, so maybe it’s still allright… maybe I should wait and see how it reacts… i’m supposed to have another session the day after tomorrow, same tatoo but a different area, where he didn’t tattoed anything (sadly, is exactly in the middle of everything -.-) should I cancel the apointment? is it safe ti have another session so soon, even if it’s on a part that is completely healed and without problems?

oh no i think i know what it is!! i think i’m alergic to one of the colors, or at least to a pigment or whatever, anyway wherever this stuff is the skin is going away, with the colour!!! oh man, that’s so bad… can I don anything? it supposed to be a present for my girlfriend, she’ll be here in one week… i think the tattoo is fucked… jesus… is there anything I can do? will it be ruined forever or once it’s healed I can try to fix it? i don’t know how much is damaged yet, it’s still healing and stuff, but judging by the areas affected loads of shades will be lost… i’m so depressed now…

it will be best if you post some pics , when i leek plasma its normally only 3 days tops .
what colour ink do you feel is causing you problems ?

keep caring for your tattoo and do not pick at it and hopefully it can be fixed but it will need to 100% heal 1st
( about 8 weeks )

ok….. stop panicing,…… its normal

sometimes the skin will react slighly different to normal, the colours sometimes look as though they are dropping out but they aint…. wait until it has healed (fully) before making any judgements on it being fucked up.

yes some people have a reaction to certain colours but from what you have said then everything is normal, remember this is your first colour piece and you are comparing it to a b/g piece….

it might be more swolen on certian parts because the skin might have been slightly overworked to get the colour in, now take a deep breath and look at the tattoo, is the area around it bright red, swolen and very painful with a burning sensation all the time ?? does the fluid that id coming out look yellow and sticky ??

if the answer to those questions is no then stop worrying, your better off if you post a photo up of it, but make sure it is a clear photo and close up… prefareably not from a camera phone as well.

calm down it might not be as bad as you think ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi

Infection signs are normally after a week + where the tattoo is oozing or weeping and by this time the plasma is discarding the dead white blood cells so it will look milky or yellow coloured.

The redness is more than just a small amount of swelling where the tattoo is it spreads outwards and there is a constant deep burning feeling to it.

Again this is normally after a week.

I am having colour added to my backpiece (first colour tattoo) and I have experienced that the swelling was much worse and the peeling was much harder than my black n shade that said apart from one sliver where I caught it it is healing fine but took well into 2 weeks to settle down.

The small sliver I need a touch up will be done in a month so it has had 6 weeks to heal and is really no big deal.

The first stages of your tattoo healing is going to look horrendous it is major injury to the skin. Keep it clean and if it is weeping lay some ice or frozen food in a bag and wrap in a cloth and apply to the area for around 15-20 mins at a time.

It will slow it down.

Also apply a mild antiseptic for the first 2-4 days until it seals up then use a non scented moisturiser.

Take Care
Matthew

thanks to everybody. actualy is exaclty as outlaw said. i was just panicing both because is my first coloured and i have no experience on them and because is a present for my GF afetr one month and one week we don’t see each other, so i wanted it perfect and the more you care about something the easier is to see problems even if there are none.
i went to my tattoist today and he said that it was actually because i was using too much bepanthen and i didn’t allow the skin to breath properly, so the swollen up areas were only scabs that didn’t form properly.
hopefully the coloured skin that is peeling off is completely normal as part of the healing process, maybe it’s excess of pigment, or stuf like that. he said it’s allright and the colours, the shades and everything is gonna be fine even if now look really awful… i’ve got no pus, no burning sensation, no pain and absolutely no red edges on the tat.
thanks to everybody… it’s gonna take long to heal and sadly my GF will see it before it is complete, but i guess it’s allright, i’ve got to live with a tat for all my life, and well, she’s gonna have time to see it completed ๐Ÿ™‚

problem is i don’t have a camera… but the tattoist was really impressed by his work and once it’s finished he’s gonna put it on his myspace. i’m gonna give you the link to the image, or maybe i’m gonna take my gf camera when she’ll be here and show it… don’t expect anything great, i mean, the subject has sense only to me and her, they are various pbjects that reminds us of ourselves… but if you wish i’ll post it.
