Whenever I apply A&D ointment (a very thin layer) to my now 1 day old tattoo, ink starts to blob to the surface. Should I switch to a different ointment or is this natural?

I thought I’d read that you should never put A+D on tattoos. Don’t trust me on it though.

I think you’ll hear several different things on aftercare, but I have a business/appointment card with aftercare instructions on it. Says to wash the tattoo with warm soapy water, and let it air dry. Apply Eucerin cream three times daily (don’t cake it on, it needs some air to heal). Don’t pick or scratch at it. Keep it out of the sun for 3 weeks, after that apply sunscreen. Shower normally, no baths, hot tubs, swimming or hot springs until tattoo is healed.

I’m pretty sure everyone is saying to stay away from the A & D. They put it on right after they are done inking you, but you should wash it off later that same day.

You can look at several different shop websites, lots of them have aftercare instructions.
Best of luck!

BTW where are you? I’m in Denver and will be going to Fallen Owl in a few weeks to make my ink beautiful!
