My idea is to have a phoenix tattooed and then under that song lyrics “..It’s ashes” I would get it on my upper foot. I just thought of it like 2 days ago. How long should i wait?

I’ve always wanted a tat but i have a track record of changing my mind. But this is by far my best idea.

1 year if you like then you will most likely like it for life.

Well you kind of answered your own question. If you know you have a bad track record of changing your mind then I would definitely hold off a few months.
Not only that but I agree that sometimes when you have what you think is a good idea and sit on it, you keep thinking it over and make it an even better idea. No harm in waiting a bit.

I have a new rule for myself regarding tattoos because I regret getting one that’s really stupid. You should only get something that either holds great significance or means something very special to you. My rule is that if I want a tattoo or come up with an idea, I wait at LEAST one year, that way I can think about it for that long and see if I’ve lost any interest in the idea. It’s better to wait the year and then realize you don’t want it than to get it and realize a year later that you don’t.

Lots of people get phoenix tattoos with song lyrics. It’s not as bad as the tribal armband, but it’s overdone a bit. I’d be DAMN sure that it’s what you really want to get and that the lyrics mean more to you than just something you think sounds good. And make sure it’s correct. Is it “its ashes” or “it’s ashes?” I’m pretty sure you mean “its ashes” without the apostrophe, not “it is” ashes.

By the way, NEVER settle for a design that is drawn for you if you are not truly 100% in love with it and comfortable with having it on your body. Don’t feel bad telling a tattoo artist that you don’t care for his design or drawing if it is not what you truly want. You are paying THEM to create a permanent work of art on your body – you may as well take the time and get it right.

I think of my tattoos the same way, it just comes to me all of a sudden.

My policy is to wait eight months to a year. Because even if you hold on to the idea, you tend to fiddle around with the way it looks over time. It starts out as an idea, and matures into art.

And besides, by the time you finally get it, you’ve built up lots of anticipation!

There’s no rush, you know? You’ve got all the time in the world. Start saving up money, just 10 bucks a month, to put towards a tattoo. And if you still want it in a year, go for it.

if you look into things to much and pick it apart..you’ll never do anything

I sugggest that you get it. Sounds like a beautiful tattoo of course your going to see the negative if you hold off. I would wait a month but not too long.
