I want it to say this in Hindi:
Lead me from the unreal to the Real
Lead me from the darkness to the Light
Lead me from the temporary to the Eternal

It is a mantra. That isn’t lame or disrespectful is it?
I really like the meaning, so it isn’t really meaningless…

I think I want it on the side of my waste or hips and kind of small (but not too small). Any ideas?
And to the people who are against tattoos, don’t try to talk me out of getting a tattoo. The question is not “Should I get a tattoo?” it is “Should I get this one?”
I haven’t decided whether or not I want it in Hindi or not. I think tattoos in different languages are becoming a cliche.

Personally I think it’s a little too long. If you get it really small the ink might start to fade or blur in a few years. Plus it seems redundant. I would pick your favorite verse or the most meaningful and just get that.

the fact that you’re having any indecision at all about this style shows that you shouldnt get it unltil you’re POSITIVE that this is the one you want. after all, you’ll be living with it for the rest of your life, and you may get tired of explaining that mantra over and over to people.

I’ve have studied hindi. This quote talks about the Maya, the materialistic outside world. The real would be yourself, the Light within, etc. No way is it disrespectful.

I think Kanji is cliche but sanskrit would be so cool. People would be like “Hey what’s that mean?” Just one thing to change. It should be more visible to you no? That why it’s a daily reminder. Black & Grey with some shading would be perfect.

The original mantra is in Sanskrit & not in Hindi.
