Basically, i was planning on getting my ribs tattooed with the holy trinity in latin..then one day i came across a picture of the actor Cam Gigandet..i noticed he had a hip tattoo that says Godspeed in a banner right above his oblique.. when i saw this i thought the banner idea on the hip was a much better location for a number of reasons..I still want the holy trinity but i would like to change it from my ribs to the banner on the hip instead. It would obviously not say Godspeed..and it wouldn’t be in english and it would be in a diff font..the question i had was if copying the banner and placement of Gigandets tattoo would be not a cool thing to do because he has it already..so really what im asking is if copying the location and banner would be seen as “low” because not the WHOLE tattoo was my Original idea.thanks.

    Hi Rlan

I personally wouldn’t think it low as you are taking a tattoo concept and making it custom to yourself.

By making these changes you are making a custom tattoo – besides you are doing it for you.

I also personally don’t have an issue if people do copy other tattoos in their entirety – that is what a lot of flash is afterall.

For my own tattoos I prefer to keep mine totally custom – this is because I like to spend a lot of time on my ideas and designs, and I think I am a closet perfectionist (lol).

I like the idea of your tattoo and wish you the best with it.

    Take Care

I would like to add that it is not “low”. Its your body, its a huge world and you want what you want. And if you see something that you think is better and would incorporate that into your tat an that is what you want then that’s what you have to do.

I would think it low if you decided on something that was just ok because what you really wanted was a rip off of something else.

An don’t think that whatever your talkin about wasn’t ripped off somewhere else an that was taking from somethin else. think about technology and progression its all people taking someone elses idea changing it and making it better perfectly natural
