My grandmother died about 6 years ago and my grandfather is still around….The two of them raised me as if I was their child and they mean the world to me! I want to put their names on my wirst with her DOB and DOD and eventually his also underneithe the name. I really like the midevil scroll type! I do have pics of what im kinda lookin at but you will have to email me! Anyone have an opinion! I really want it done but im scared! haha This is one name on one side and the other on the other side just so you know! 🙂
Thanx
How sweet, i was also raised by my great aunt and uncle sort of like grandparents, here’s what i did, i was closer to my uncle than my aunt and sitll miss him and its been 10 years
I put his date of birth and death on each side after i hunted down a family member that knew what year he was born. These sort of tattoos are very special, i only did mine last year because i could never find what i wanted, and it just popped up one day. I’m sure you’ll find the right design, there’s many areas of the body you could do it.
i perswonally think it is a good idea.. but i also think your grand father might take it the wrong way… for example he may think it like your counting down…. or something like that….
for example a freinbd of mine wants to get a tattoo with his bro for his mother… the thing is she aint dead and just because she got cancer it may belive her to think that she has no hope in his eyes and the enevitable will come sooner or later…..
just some thoughts..
do you think it would be better if i waited for the date on hers and just put the names. My fiance has just their names on his arms and he doesn’t have the dates yet and his gramd. loves it. ???
Hi
I would suggest names only whilst their is a surviving partner. It could hurt them to see the reminder date fo their loss everytime they see you.
It is a nice gesture but as with all ink you can always keep adding to it at a later date.
Take Care
Matthew
