    Hi Everyone…

Just a quick post, to ask a simple question…

Last friday (20th March 2009) I had my tattoo done, I have looked after it as advised and it appears to have healed up nicely…

In fact it looks great… and I love showing it off… lol

But I should be going back on the 4th April for the rest of the work to be done to it…

All the scabbing and flaking (looked like snake skin) has gone now… it’s no longer sore… neither does it itch… it does now and then but around the Tat… not the Actual Tat…

This is the recommendation of the tattoo artist… who I trust…

    But are they correct?

Is two weeks long enough, or should I put it off a short while longer…

2 weeks is the standard time for healing between sessions. You oughta be fine my man.

By the way, bit of a logic problem here–if your trust your artist, why are you checking up on him? If you trusted him, you wouldn’t need to.

Just because I’m told something, does not mean that I need to belive it…

This is my logic of life…

I never trust anything that people tell me…

I like to deal with hard fact…

You have to have trust in the artist… at the end of the day…

If I didn’t trust them, then I would not have them tattoo me…

Dude man, your logic doesn’t hold water. By definition, trust implies that you’re willing to listen to someone because you trust their experience and knowledge gives them the correct information. Therefore, if you’re checking up on him, then you don’t trust what he said, and that equals you do not trust your artist.

I’m not passing judgement on this, when you’re concerned it’s always a good idea to check up on things, but to say you trust your artist and then demonstrate you don’t is just a tad bit annoying. Either you trust him and you accept his instructions, or you don’t–you can’t have it both ways.

    Sorry…

    I don’t mean it like that…

Let me try and clarify what I mean, with out digging another hole for myself… lol

I trust her implicitly… Her advice I take without question…

But…. I have been told by other people too many different things recently…

Most feel that they know best… and that her advice to me was wrong… they all have these poxy stars or trible tats (done badly) so feel they are experts and know best…

So that set the seeds of doubt…

So I needed to reasure myself, that my trust was not misplaced…

    Which it wasn’t… 🙂

Over the years I have had a lot of people lie to me, so my trust in people is rather lacking…

Hence I always double check what people say before taking their advice…

I hope that explains things better…

So, it’s not that you don’t trust her, it’s that you don’t trust anyone. Gotcha. 😀

On another note, it also pisses me off when people with terrible ink act like they know more than you do. It’s like…look at that. Your “koi” looks like a retarded badger, or maybe a drunken englishman. And you’re going to tell me about tattoos?

    Love. Peace. Metallica.

P.S.: Sentences end with periods, not ellipses. Remember, grammar is our friend, not our enemy.

    Love. Peace. Metallica. Again.

    Hi PB

As a drunken Englishman my opinion is….

The minimum you should wait is 2 weeks this gives the tattoo time to heal and your body time to refresh from the ordeal.

Some say leave it upto 4 weeks – it depends on individual healing rates. Everybody heals at a different rate so you will hear different opinions.

Once the tattoo has flaked and no longer feels shiny, tight, sore or itchy you are usually good to go for another session.

The whole ‘self – expert’ thing is subjective – my advice is always check it out with a professional.

As for the trust thing – deal with hard facts and you will rarely go astray.

    Take Care

I’m glad we got the trust thing cleared up… lol

There seems to be a lot of “Experts” out there… all with dodgy tats etc…

Even people without tats are suddenly becoming “Experts” because all there friends have tats…

    But “Hey – ho” that’s life…

    Onwards and upwards we go…

The the tattoo has flaked and no longer feels shiny, tight, sore…

    It is occasionally itchy…

But I can when rubbing in moisturising cream… feel bumps under the surface… I presume this is normal feeling?

I presume the surface area has healed but underneath needs a little bit more time…
