hey ppl. im new here and was wanting some advice on tattooing on elbows? i have a mate whos just started out tattooing and im wanting to get a star on my elbow, but im wondering will it change its shape if i get the tattoo done on with my arm “extended” or “bent” .any advice would be greatly appreciated! cheers rhys

stars look cool on elbows but i wouldnt get one done by someone just starting out !!

Because of the sizing needed to allow for flexing and straightening I would suggest a pro to do it. That way you avoid the tattoo looking stretched.

Also the dips around the joint can be tricky to fill in if not had plenty of practice.

yea i know but my m8 was doing it for cheeeap as lol so its hard to turn down,but i wasnt sure how hard it might be to get the star right on the elbow as iv hardly seen much tatts on elbows. but i want to get it done right so i think id rather go to a pro 🙂

Plus, let’s face it, getting arm herpes and other bloodbornes sucks an English man.

well got my elbow done an it looks dope!! went to a pro in the end. cheers for the advice guys, prob saved me from getting a rangi tat on my elbow instead of the dope one thats on there now 🙂
