Okay so here’s the dealy, I eventually want to get a mario tattoo. I’m pretty sure it will end up being a 1/4 or 1/2 sleeve, but it’s still up in the air. Anyways, I want at least these characters in it, I also added pics of the scenery of Super mario bros 3 that I like and possibly want added. One question is, is it possible? Will the characters have to have a more rounded shape instead of what they are now. If do you think they will still look okay? I’m basically wanting to create my own level type deal with my favorite characters & scenery from smb3. Ideas anyone that are useful? 🙂

I think you have a pretty good idea here. I’d recommend if you still have the games to maybe go through and find what you like and try to draw it on paper. Then of course head to a good artist and let her/him work there magic. I grew up playing games and mario bros was one of the games I have always played I to am currently working on mario, TMNT and transformers tattoos. Hope you find everything your looking for and get a great tat

If you get ALL of those characters in there, your piece will most likely come out busy as hell. Personally, I’d drop shoe Mario and the big gulper fish.
But the classic Nintendo look, do you mean like slightly pixelated? Because I’m almost certain that that’ll blurr together over the years. I think you can get an amazing piece out of these raw ideas, but you may have to tweak it a bit.

That was one of my main concerns was it being busy. The main characters I definitely want in it and won’t get rid of is the mario in the boot (he was my fave), the bob-omb (because of my dad & when we used to play smb3 together.), and the flying spitting fire bomb thingy (lol).
I’m trying to think of a way to explain it, but if you notice the picture the one girl posted mario was more 3d looking & shaded really well and all that. I’m wondering how it would look if I got it where it more so resembles the game itself with all it’s 2d glory lol. I’m wanting to basically make my own little scene on my arm of my fave characters from the game. If that makes sense.

I don’t have the original game for NES, but I have the gameboy advance one. I’ve been playing that one on my gamecube. I have used that quite a bit & sprites I’ve found online to help me get sort of what I want.

i think you went along to your chosen studio and talked to the artist and get them to draw you something up because they are brill at placing things together to make a half sleeve and it will fit you ! 😀
