I’m 18 years old now, and I have wanted to get this tattoo since I was 16. I have been thinking about the design for years now and finally know what I am going to get. I finally have enough money to get it now, but there is only one thing stopping me from getting it. My girlfriend doesn’t want me to get it. Now I need help making an important decision.

Should I listen to her and not get it, or should I get what I have been planning to get for years?

tattoos last a lot longer than girl and boy friends .
my last partner was not supportive of the half sleeve im working on now and i regret not doing it sooner .
he is history and now im getting the tattoo done.

at the end of the day its your body , and if she loves you she really shouldn’t try and stop you .
    my opinion anyways

yea, that’s what I reckon. I’ve been thinking of getting the tattoo long before I met her. I’ll give it a go. Whatever happens, happens. I still have a couple of weeks to decide so I need to be 100% sure that what I’m doing is the right choice.

    Here is the thing..

My wife is Jewish Israeli and you are unlikely to find a group as stubborn or as anti-ink as them.

She hates my tattoos but deep down she likes the idea that I am strong enough to say to ppl that I am doing it for me.

To be honest she doesn’t really notice the ink anymore as it has just become a part of me.

If your g/f really does want to share her life with you she has to learn to compromise and accept there are some things in life you just have to do.

If it was a shite piece of ink I would be saying don’t do it but it is a nice concept will have a lot of personal and spiritual meaning to yourself that will not lose the interest like a passing ‘fad tattoo’ might.

Also never and i mean ever, ever, ever get a gf’s name inked.

    Take care

Turns out I made the right choice. My girlfriend came back from Cambodia last Thursday, and I didn’t tell her I got it done. I thought she would be mad, so I waited until she came back before telling her. At first she was mad, and hit me with her bag. Later on when she got a better look at it, she loved it. The next day I went to her place and she already told her mum and sisters about it. They came running to the door to see it. Then today in the car with her brother and dad, she made me explain the meaning of my tattoo and the story behind the prayer. Best decision I’ve made in a long time!
