Hi,

I am not a native Hawaiian, I’m a haole. I am a surfer and love the ocean, which naturally led me to love Hawaii. Aside from that I feel this connection to Hawaii ever since the first time I visited Kauai. So my question is, do you think it’s okay for a non-hawaiian to get the islands tattooed on themselves? I mostly see this tattoo on people who are hawaiian.

Looking specifically for answers from people who are Hawaiian, but would love to hear all opinions.

hello and welcome to the forums. im not hawiian but i dont think hawiians would care if you got the islands tattooed on you. i thought texans where the only ones who got there state tattooed on them. well good luck and keep us posted.

not sure about the OPs question not from hawaii sorry, but to the other poster; its not just texans im from long island and im planning on eventually getting the outline of the island incorporated into a tattoo, and ive seen other people with similar LI stuff too
