2 weeks ago I got my tattoo filled in. It is a japanese lotus in water, the petals are purple on the outside and yellow/light orange on the inside.

> What i would like to know is if i can darken both the inside and the outside of the petals as they came out lighter than i thought.

> I was thinking a very dark purple on the outside and a dark red on the inside.

Is this possible and if so what is the general process??

Well if it’s only 2weeks since you got it done it won’t be fully healed yet so you should see what it looks like after another 2-3 weeks as it’s hard to tell the quality/color on it when it is still healing.

And if after that you still want to do your idea you would just go to your tattooist and explain what you want doing. It shouldn’t be hard to do i don’t think.

Thanks for your reply. Basically it has been almost 3 weeks now (time flies) anywho I have been and seen a local artist who has told me that it has healed to the full extent. However it is ALOT lighter than expected. How does the darkening process take place. Ie is it the useno darker inknor the same ink with more ink or….? Also if I post pics of what I have and what I want do u think this might provide a better idea?

Pictures will always give us a better understanding on what you are talking about and what bits you wish to darken. They will probably use darker ink (i think) the tattooist will do whatever he thinks best.

Let it finish healing. It’s is probably going through the “new skin” phase now. At 3 weeks or so a new layer of skin will grow over the top giving your tattoo a clouded or muted look. So in a month or two if you still don’t like it then think about fixing it.

Yeah won’t be touching it for a good month or so bit I basically want to know if that tattoo can be darkened from a light purple to a very dark blue/purple/grey Which was originally after and also the orange to red…. Thoughts?

Yes you can always go from lighter to darker but never the reverse.
