Hello. My wife and I both had some work by an artist in Vancouver BC area about 1 1/2 years ago.
Unfortunately I do not have the last name but some details. I know it is a long shot considering the size of North America but I need to give it a shot.

His name is Tom. (wish I had a last name)
The info I have is that he apprenticed and worked in North Carolina. He then moved somewhere in Hawaii to work. If I remember correctly he was there for 5 years.
After Hawaii he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia and worked at a shop in New Westminster called “Fat City Tattoo”. This is where we had our work done.
Sometime late 2008 early 2009 he returned to Hawaii.
I have recently been told that he is working in Bellingham Washington.
If any of these dots connect and you have information I would very much like to get hold of him for my next piece.
