The work was done at Dynamic Tattoo in Melbourne where he was doing a guest spot.
The chinese lore/story goes… the koi fish is to swim up the yellow river- a task it wasn’t ever supposed to be capable of doing. If it can do that… it will turn into a dragon.
So upward facing koi’s represent the attempt to become a dragon…which is a good thing
saying that
koi’s are overdone. when will unicorn’s become trendy?
Yeah, I was aware of the story before I got the tattoo, however I got it with no real meaning or story behind the it. It was purely because i liked the design as an art form.
I think you will find it’s scare tissue caused by the artist being way too heavy handed. I have the same thing with my first tattoo same deal walked into a shop randomly with no research, I’m glad I put alot more time into my second. Live and learn ๐
Thanks everyone! i’ve got a booking on the 26th of November to have it finished of, i’ll be sure to post pics once its done.
