I didn’t think I was being a dick, you seem a little defensive though. So you feel the best way to learn about proper tattoing methods is to ask strangers on a tattoo enthusiast forum? Wow, good luck to you and your family and your clients.

You asked if I met my hero would I get an autograph tattoo and my answer would be no, I really don’t get the concept but to each their own. And you’re right, you have the right to idolize whomever you choose…even a pro wrestler. And I quoted the word chap mainly because I’m not sure exactly what a chap is. But you said your chap also thought it…[Read more]

Valerie Vargas is a great tattoo artist but from what I understand she is very hard to book due to her busy schedule. Good luck.

These questions are not allowed on this site. Besides, that’s something your mentor should help you with.

I agree with your “chap”…lame! To still be worshipping a pro wrestler at your age is pretty sad and then to get an autograph tattoo makes it even worse. Sorry, but you asked.

Both Josh’s and James’ portraits sucked ass. Personally I think James’ was worse, but it really could have gone either way. Nice tattoo. And I really like how you and the artist creatively used symbolism to represent the meanings rather than a page of script or dates or something. Again, very nicely done.

I don’t really think about percentages when I tip, I just give waht I can and it’s always appreciated. For a $500 tattoo, giving an extra 50 or so is fine and would not be a slap in the face.

Typically it’s ointment for a couple of days until the peeling starts, then unscented lotion. Use all sparingly, 2-3 times a day.

I was booked with Oleg in 2011 but he cancelled due to visa problems getting to the states. He travels all over and does guest spots but I don’t think he’s returning to the U.S. any time soon.

Anti bacterial soap is obviously beneficial but it’s also very harsh and can cause over drying. For me, after the first day or two I switch to a more gentle, unscented bar soap like ivory or dial, etc. If it’s scabbing thickly then don’t put any ointment or lotion on it since that will just saturate the scabs and make them worse. Let the scabs dry…[Read more]

Nicely done tattoo. Not one of my favorites but there’s really no questioning that it’s well done.

replied to the topic Why do tattoos need to have meaning?? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 12 years, 10 months ago
A big reason that tattoos have to have deep meaning for so many people nowadays is the tattoo reality shows say so. There are so many newbies to the tattoo world, many of which are resulting from (not so) reality TV. A couple of my tattoos have family meaning but the rest are simply because I like the art and wanted it tattooed on me…that’s all…[Read more]

At least they were cheap and you didn’t have to wait long for an appointment, afterall isn’t that what truly matters? Your tattoos are not done very well at all, just giving honest feedback. It’s time to save some money and take the time needed to get some nicer tattoos from a better artist when you’re ready for more. In Atlanta you are surrounded…[Read more]

replied to the topic Proper English in a tattoo in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 12 years, 10 months ago
In my opinion I’m ok with text within a tattoo if the few words are short and simple and compliment or enhance the accompanying image in some way. I dont like (most) stand alone text tattoos or if the text is too long or wordy. Long fancy quotes, poems, song lyrics, etc., just don’t work for me as tattoos. Obviously many disagree and that’s cool too.
