honestly, i couldnt care less what ppl judge based off my tattoos. i dont get them to offend them or to invite their opinion, i dont want to hear it, and if they do judge me so what! if thats their preference on how to waste their life then let em, theyre bigger losers then anyone with tats then. if you dont want judged than dont put ink in your skin, seriously grow a pair, being an individuals about making your own decisions and standing up for them, BY YOURSELF.

besides you wait til they’re dumb enough to say those things around rougher ppl, like a bikerbar haha

you could probably combine the elements of the tree and the swallows. you could like them as simply having a worm or banner or something that they are both holding onto

sorry for your loss
i think i can help you if not at least give you an interesting perspective
i am a twin and decided a while back to get a piece representing my brother and i
like you i didnt want anything obvious
my inspiration was that despite our constant butting of heads we always love each other and protect one another. so i got what i can best describe as a cat-dog like monster with two human torsos that are connected each holding the end of a rope fighting over it to show how despite our disagreements we’ll always be linked

so maybe you could use representation like the swallows but find a unique way to incorporate them to symbolize the twin factor. my best advice is make it as personal as you can and avoid overdoing typical symbols, i.e. hearts crosses and angels, as you said before.

anyways i hope my own tale can help you think up some inspiration 😀

i met a guy during an art show in Kansas City who had a tribal-like swirl brand that started on his shoulder and ran down to his forearm, and im talking legit here, i was about 2 inches wide at the thickest and was at least 1/3 of an inch raised off his skin. it was more of a scaring piece but he did it through branding

oh forgot to mention in my intro that i participate in a sport known as Dagorhir
its been a big part of my life in recent years
if you dont know what it is its foam weapons fighting, but not like larping
in Live Action Role Play, your basically a real life D&D character running around in your cloak throwing tennis balls as “lightning bolts”, its just too nerdy and redonkulous for me. No in Dag its simply show up wit ha homemade foam weapon and kick some ass
