Nice work. I wouldnt get any name on me that might change at a later date. Your kids will always be your kids, but fiances and spouses tend to change at times. Sucks to have to go back and do a cover up, especially when its on a nice peice. But thats just my opinion.
I cant advise on when its best, but a very good freind of mine went into the military after highschool. He was a weight lifter and football player. He was all built up and solid. After about 2 years in the army he came back a good bit smaller but way stronger and more solid. I wouldnt expect to get to bulked up, you may or may not. You will probably come back alot more solid though. Getting all bulked up requires a lot of gym time, which most military people dont have time to commit to.
Very nice. I like the color on the Orcids (hope thats the right flowers).
I think its a pretty cool peice. Its not what I would want to have done but to each his on. I have posted my back peice (in progress) I know its different and not to everybodys taste. Thats what makes them individual. Question is are you happy with it? If so, then you have all the confirmation you need. In the end the only one you have to impress with it is yourself. Post more pics as it comes along.

The reasons for your tattoo are personal which is great, but the tattoo in my opinion is just not appealing. It looks very simple, but perhaps as you get more shit going on it will get better.
It is very difficult to ask an opinion on a tattoo as they are so personal.
Thanks, I respect your opinion. There is a good bit more that will be going into it. There is still a lot more shading to do on the train and truck and then we will start on the ground work and skyline. This is a work in progress.
I went by last night to set up another session for some more work, the artist I use was just finishing with a person and setting up for the next one. He wiped down the gun and other equipment ( non sterile items) with a type of Sani-wipe solution. The same thing done in the hospital for non-invasive items. Next time you go to the doctor watch and see how much stuff your local doctor touches in his exam room before he gets to your exam. The dirtiest item in the doctors office is his stethoscope. Think about how many bare chests and backs it touches and generally isnt cleaned between patients.
As a health care proffesional I definitley pay attention to cross contamination. In this area we have a problem with MRSA and VRE. A safe measure for anyone after getting a tattoo done would be to get a prescription for a profilactic antibiotic. Keeping your site clean and an antibiotic ointment could also be used. Check with your artist to see what type of ointment would not affect the quality of the tattoo during the healing process. Its not any different than taking care of any other abraision. Dont be afraid to ask your artist questions. If the artist doesnt want to explain things and changes the subject quickly, consider running as fast as you can to another studio.
OK, I got my photos uploaded into a photo album. Please check them out. I would like some feed back as to how it looks so far. I am really happy with it. I think my artist is top notch, he is doing a great job.
