I like your idea of adding to it, and the first picture would be pretty solid.. You can add whatever the hell you want to also, but if you’re wanting to get it covered then listen to the other guys, you’ll have to get it toned down with some laser treatments..

I had a few stretch marks that were inked over on my ribcage.. Worst pain ever..

They started bleeding and it took a long time to heal, but if you do this, my hat is off to you

They shouldn’t be affected at all.. I am down 75 lbs after I had stopped playing football and joined the Air Force, and all of my tattoos are still solid and unchanged.

As far as thoughts it sounds like you have an exact idea of what you want, just find the right artist and bring in a few pics for reference and he/she will be able to rock it out better than you could’ve imagined

Sticking with Japanese style tattoos, you could do a tiger climbing a mountain facing a dragon at the top.. I think that would be pretty slick
