but she wants it gone..like what could she do besides laser stuff

she told me something like she could go back to the place and they could get some ink that matchs here skin tone and just cover it up..yall think that would work

That sounds a bit weird.. I don’t think that would be very wise. You can see it’s a tattoo anyway, and if she is out in the sun and get a tan, the tattoo won’t be taned it would look really weird.

What I recommend is laser or use a knife and cut the whole thing away, nah just kiddin about the last one.

It is possible for the artist to cover it up with another tattoo.

But just use a color that match your skin.. i don’t think that is a good idea, I don’t think it’s possible either because the tattoo is black. Take a black pensil and fill something on a piece of paper.. then take orange or something and try to cover up the black.. not possible.

She can have it lightened and THEN color over it maybe, but seriously, I wouldn’t try that..

If she decides to cover it up, chose another artist. It’s not much serious business if the artist tatooes a drunk chick. He deserves a fucking slap.

I would ask Sherav or Outlaw about this, they know very much about stuff like this I would think.

Why don’t he just go down to the tattoo studio and check out the album where he found the tattoo.. usually the meaning of the tattoo will stand right below the design.

This is why you never should get tattooed when ur drunk.. :/ A friend of mine tattooed a spider between his thumb and index finger on the left and and a spider web on the same spot on the right hand.

Turned out great though.

I looked at the pictures, neither looks bad, the tribal could do with being reworked. I can’t see the raised areas you are talking about.

Here are three things to consider.

1.) The artist screwed up. He went too deep on his lines which creates scarring. The scarring can occur WITHOUT color loss. When it occurs and your color is solid it creates a raised area. The worse the artst did, the worse the scarring.

However, this might not have been the case. In rare cases I run into people who have an adverse reaction to tattoos. Period. Which brings us to point to consider, #2.

2.) Some people have an adverse reaction to tattoos. When I say that, I mean they scar. Every time. This does not necessarily mean there will be color loss. In most cases its simply cosmetic. You find this with dark skinned people more often than not. I’ve never had the problem with Caucasions with work I’ve done, but I have seen it with work that other people have done. I don’t know if that was the case with them either.

Look at it like this. The artist is putting hundreds of thousands of needle holes in you very close together. In solid color fill, those needle holes overlap. What is created is a fresh wound. Some people when they heal… the process of healing, instead of rebuilding the tissue smoothly, rebuilds it in layers, creating the raised areas you describe. People who have a lot of melanonin in their body (creating dark skin tones) are more susceptible to this than those with lighter skin tones, but some light skin toned people are affected.

If the finished quality of the tattoo is not affected, and if there is no color loss or infection, I wouldn’t worry about it. See a dermatologist if you want a definitive answer.

But that might not be the case either, which brings us to point to consider #3.

3.) There are actually 2 things to consider here.

First is that you are having a minor allergic reaction to the pigments used. In other words, your body is reacting against the ingredients used in the pigments your artist prefers. To decide if this is the case, use a different brand of pigment from a different manufacturer. If this does not happen the next time, when you use the same artist, then there is a strong possibility that the pigment is the cause.

In which case, if there is no color loss or infection, don’t worry about it.

The other point here in this third point is related. Your body swells when it gets a tattoo. The swelling is concentrated on the lines, which is the most concentrated area of holes. Sometimes that swelling takes weeks to go down. It depends on your body chemistry and how you take care of your tattoo. Your body reacts first to the fact that you are torturing it by punching hundreds of thousands of holes into it, then it reacts to the fact that you are pushing a foreign substance into those holes. Thus you have swelling.

In most people that swelling goes down in three to four days. In some cases 1 to 2 weeks and in rare cases up to a month. Again, this is directly related to skin tone. The darker the skin the longer it takes to go down.

I’m sure there are other related issues, but I don’t know what they are.

It sounds like you’ll be just fine, and that you have nothing to worry about. Hope I helped a little.

Wow dude! That is some damn fine answer!! I had to read it like 2-3 times and I think now I understand everything fully! it really halped! Thanks you so much!

Okey. Well, I kind of look away from the #2 since I’ve had no reactions on any of the tattoo’s, neither color loss plus I am VERY light in my skin. I have even really problems getting brown.
To answer #3. It’s been around 1 1/2 week since my leg tattoo (the tiger) and it seems like I’m not going to be having this “raised areas” problem. The blue is very raised, but not the black parts. Is it something with that the colored parts takes longer time to go down in the skin because of the ingreadiences in those? or? idunno. But it still is raised up a bit, but not at all as much as the tribal on my arm. I kind of think that this is the case. Maybe he used a different brand this time or it’s easily just because he fucked up and went to deep. But is this possible to fix or is it permanent?

But if it’s the case that I’m fucking allergic to tattoo’s I’m gonna be so pissed off. I love tattoos and I’m thinking of getting a lot more, but if every tattoo is raised up from my skin I don’t know if I still want more.

But a thing that really freaks me out on my arm tattoo is that I get a lot of weird stuff on it. It’s like suddenly sometimes there come these “dots” on it. Not often, but I saw yesterday that a very small thing was on it. I try to peal it off, but I guess it’s better not to. Freaking weird.

Well, I’m going to work now so I won’t be able to answer any questions, but please, if you think you know what the problem is, write it and I’ll read and answer in like 8 hours or something

ok, did this artist come recommended or something ?
have you got some pics you can post ?
guessing i would think your artist could have gone to deep and thats why your tattoo is raised .
but thats only a guess because i havent seen it .

try post some pics if possible

The artist has a norwegian wife, that’s why he visits norway every summer. And luckily a friend of mine knows the arist very well and he stays with them for like 5-6 days and then he moves till another place where he knows people and tattoo where he’s wanted and is tattooing quality tattoos for a small amount of money.

I will wait a bit before claiming that my tiger is messed up because it’s only been like a week and it kind of feels like it’s “on it’s way down” when I run my fingers over it, but the tribal is completely fucked.

If you go to my albums you can see the tribal on my arm, almost nothing of the tat has gone down in the skin.

Hi everyone!

I find it kind of weird that the artist would fuck up twice…but someone asked if it was in a tattoo studio: No, this was done privatly in a house. The tattoo artist visits my country once-a-year and brings all his tattoo and piercing equipment and takes houndreds of tattoo’s while his here. But even though I took it privaty, he still is a guy with 13 years of experience and takes customer safety and health very seriously.

that’s why I do think it has more to do with my skin, pigments or whatever. He has gone home now, so I can’t ask him, but 1 september, my sister is getting a tattoo in a studio and maybe they will know what is wrong with it…

But.. I was stupid enough to play soccer yesterday or football, not like american football if you get confused, like football were you only used the leg to kick the ball. Anyway, yesterday was one week since I got my leg tattoo and we were just playing pretty easily, like passing, doing tricks etc.. and then suddenly, but not suprisingly cause of my luck, the ball hits perfectly the tattoo at good speed. the first thing I thought was that now I have really fucked the tattoo up, and I felt a slight pain in the tattoo.. but when I looked at it I saw nothing special.. but maybe it’s something that you can’t see? Idunno.

Wow Sherav, that was a pretty awesome site!! so much information! Great!

One more thing I forgot to ask my tattoo artist about and I didn’t find info about on your site is that I took my tattoo on my leg, should I not be wearing jeans? since it can scratch the tattoo, should I use some kind of plastic outside the tattoo?

I’ve used shorts for the past two days, but now it’s really bad weather and I am going outside in a little bit.

Isn’t it better to be wearing sweatpants?

Hello! It’s now around 48 hours/two days since I took it.. and last night before I went to bed I washed it and I noticed a bit of the blue on the tattoo went away.. I can’t notice it on the tattoo but I saw it on my fingers.. is that like redundant color or did I remove some of the colors on it?:s

It kind of freaked me out and I haven’t washed it since that! should I just keep on washing it carefully or stop?

Hello everyone! Now the tiger is on place after a hell of a tattoo session!!!

Ya now, I was told to shave my leg before I went there. And I did it, BUT I used ordinary shaving cream.. with a lot of fragrance.. And I went over to take my tattoo and he said he could do the outline now, but the coloring like 4 hours later because he forgot his colors at the shop and the guy who had the key went away for the day and a pal had to go and get the colors.

I thought that was a great idea.. in that way I could chillout for some hours before I continued.

After the outline I thought my leg was on fire! it burned, burned and burned. and I saw that my skin was NOT comfortable with the shaving cream I used before.. it was SO soar, hot and hurt like hell and it was like 2 hours till I could do the coloring. He was like: Oh dude, how did you shave your legs?

Then the coloring, my leg was like on fire andDAMN how it hurt!! And after 1 1/2 hours of pain it was finally done. I bled like hell! I have a picture of the outline where you can see how soar it is!

And let me tell you, the red is NOT blood or color. It’s just my damn sensitive skin.

here is picture of the outline

dsc00094d.th.jpg

here is picture now when I got home!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I was pretty saticfied!!
not a great picture thought cuz I don’t have a great camera.

I’m gonna take the whole thing tomorrow cuz the artist is going home to his country tomorrow.. So I’m a bit scared if I can’t deal with the pain. But he said we could take as many breakes as I wanted and he didn’t think it would be a problem.

in worst case scenerio I’ll do the rest at a other tattoo studio.
