From a medical POV, that is a terrible idea.
Just exfoliate lightly with a washcloth and antibacterial soap. If you squeeze, you risk opening a sore up and taking ink with you.
Thanks Gray!!!!! I have been doing just that – all is well – blemish is gone – no damage done – If there was damage my artist would have touched…[Read more]

Also, for fill, so areas with no shading, it’s best to wash them once a day, but it’s not the wash and scrub, I take a clean cloth, put some warm water on it, scrub a bar of soap on it (I personally like ivory), then splash water on the tattoo. I would then dab the cloth on to the tattoo, no rubbing, once covered, I would…[Read more] -

If not, he won’t gaurantee his work and if I need touch ups I will be out of luck. I was really only interested in the use of Dial…[Read more]

No problem dude, im surprised you haven’t heard of bepanthen it’s nappy rash cream but apparently one of the best creams for healing tattoo’s and not very expensive. Defiantly worth a pick up if you walk past a chemist/boots.I am going to get it today. It’s only a 2 day old tat so I can start that cream now I suppose. I am…[Read more]

For a first time tattoo, and knowing how much (different) advice you’ll get about healing, I’d go by what your artist told you. It’s his name attached to the ink, and he wants it to look just as good as you do. Once you have a few tattoos, you can decide to heal it your own way. For now, go by what he told you. Thanks…[Read more]

The problem with soap that contains the fragrance and moisturizer is that the irritation and the moisturizer will keep the wound open longer, which means more chance to loose ink / have a bad healing experience.Tattoos are going to get itchy as hell, that’s what happens when your skin dries up and is healing. That’s…[Read more]

Using the Dial soap is fine even though it contains some fragrance, you’re rinsing it off anyway and not just rubbing it into the skin and leaving it. I like to use a generic brand of antibacterial soap because it’s less harsh and drying. After a couple of times I switch to a milder bar soap anyway so you’re fine with whatever…[Read more] -

It sucks that aftercare is such a clustered mess, but unfortunately, everyone’s skin is different, and different things work for different people. I used Dial Gold when I had absolutely nothing else and it worked fine. I went to Walgreens and got their brand soap. It DOES come fragrance free.I should have got the store brand. The people at the company who makes Dial said they don’t make anything fragrance free. Hmmmm.

That oozing is plasma. You just probably didn’t wash it all after your first wash. Use antibacterial soap like Dial liquid. It’s normal to see a little bit of ink when you pat it dry. This is just from my experience.Go easy on moisturizing it. Too much moisture is bad for your tattoo.
