You could just wait and see if the bruising eventually go’s away? This is your best bet for now, unfortunately. It really takes a good 6-8 weeks for a tattoo to heal to the point where you know what it will look like. replied to the topic Minor issues: Am I picky? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years ago
Most good artists will take a look at their work after its healed up (4-6 weeks or so) and do a free touch up. Its perfectly normal for there to be small issues or discolorations after it heals, and they are happy to get it fixed up for you. Even though they do it for free, give them a tip for taking care of you. They are permanently inking…[Read more]

Mine did something similar after I first got it, it appeared to be raised. But it eventually went away. I can’t remember the time frame, but pretty sure it wasn’t 4 weeks. Your friend might just be taking longer to heal, everyone is different.
Have them wait 6-8 weeks, that’s usually how long it takes to really decide what it’s going to look…[Read more]

replied to the topic New tattoo … RASH is this normal in the forum Inked Skin 13 years ago
Without seeing a picture, the small rash could be due to razor burn as well. Some people have a bad reaction to having the to-be-tattooed area shaved first. Hard to tell without seeing a picture (or knowing if you had the area shaved), but that, combined with a possible allergic reaction to either the ink or the lotion could explain it.

Yeah, plastic wrap is bad. Its a wound, and you want a wound to breath so it can heal. The moisturizer is great for the itchy/flaking stage. Makes it weasier to cope with. Mine itches and flakes forever, so I usually have to put a morning and evening layer on. Very thin, though. No gooping.
If you have anyh issues after it heals 6-8 weeks,…[Read more]

replied to the topic Is this blowout? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years ago
I’m with you, it almost looks like there is a separation between the edge of the tattoo and where the blowout begins. With the yellowing on the outside (bruising), I’d almost want to say that the dark discoloration is addiational bruising, but its obviously ink so it has to be a blowout. But it sure is the damnedest blowout I’ve seen.
Let it…[Read more]

That’s not a style I would get, but it actually looks like its done very well. I don’t think adding to it would be easy unless you went back to the same artist and completed the additional work in the exact same style. Covering it up is more problematic. You’d have to get it lasered in order to put a koi fish , or anything else, over that.
It…[Read more]

There is much wisdom in your words, grasshopper…
When its your first, you don’t know what the heck to expect. Is it healing? Is it supposed to flake? Is it supposed to be this itchy? Should I put on this? Should I put on that? How do I get all these women to stop throwing themselves at me now that I have a cool tattoo?

replied to the topic Organic Biomech ideas. in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years ago
Best bet is to find a good bio-mech artist in your area if you can and ask them. Talk over your ideas, give them some sample pics maybe, and have them draw something up for you. You’ll have to put down a deposit for the artwork to be done, but it’ll go towards your cost of the tattoo. Bio-mech is a very specific style, and you’re going to want…[Read more]

This might qualify for “Ridiculous Thread of the Year”.
You can copyright whatever the hell you want. Knock yourself out. But, you might want to spend 10 minutes on the phone with a copyright attorney and discuss your master plan, because they will probably tell you that you have no chance in hell of ever seeing a dime if your “creation” is…[Read more]
