Welcome to the forum!
You can have your artist make that as small or as big as you would like. Mr Chen is spot on: go find a GOOD tattoo artist in your area. Ask for referrals, go into shops, look at their work, talk to them about what you want to do, etc. Bottom line, this will be on you forever! Take your time, do it right the first time,…[Read more]

I just want to make sure I’ve got all this straight. So in this thread we’ve had:
1. A man getting a pedicure
2. A man sticking his thumb up his own ass
3. A bearded belly dancerI just want to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Am I keeping score correctly?

replied to the topic Okay to tattoo another country name than your own? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years ago
I don’t see how that could be offensive or viewed as odd. If you were getting a sacred cultural symbol or something native I could see an issue with it, but its just a name. If it means something to you, go for it!
Let us know what you decide, and make sure you post a pic when its done. Good luck with it!

Ft. Collins! I used to work in Longmont a few years back! Beautiful out there, really miss it. Maybe I’ll get back out there someday…
I know there are some good shops in Denver. I’ll see if I can dig up the names of one of them.

This is far from the worst work ever shown here. It’s not a bad tattoo at all, its just not all that you wanted it to be. If you want to get it upgraded, you are going to need to be very specific with an artist (“I want linework added here, shading here, separation and definition here”). Sometimes we just assume our artists understand what we…[Read more]

Congrats on your first! Welcome to the forum!
Did you talk to your artist about the shading before you began the outline? What did they say?

Just as you have the right to go get a tattoo or piercing anywhere you like, an employer should have the right to choose what sort of image they want their employees to present to their customers. Don’t scream about “human rights”. It’s not inhumane to not hire someone for a position that they may not be suitable for based upon their appearance.…[Read more]

Could you track someone down that knew him or might have been there when he got it? If he was military, maybe it was specific to his unit?
Just some thoughts. I agree with the others, just get something that symbolizes him to you. Talk to an artist and see what they can design for you. Might mean more to you if its a special custom piece…[Read more]

I don’t know, man… I mean, if it truly were a swastika, I’d be the first one to drive you to the removal clinic myself. But if you just wallked up and showed that to me, I’d never think of a Nazi symbol. And I’m German.
If you liked it for the reasons you got it back when, then hang on to it. Great part about tattoos are they tell the story…[Read more]

I’d wait closer to 6 weeks before you know what its really going to look like. If you do put any lotion on it, use just the smallest dab you can manage.
When you put lotion on it, does it sort of clear up? Or darken up?
