It really is a stunning piece, I had seen some progress shots of it on IG so it was pretty cool to see it for real.

Stared at Gogue this weekend. It was awesome. He was busy and I was to shy to talk to him. But it was awesome!

Nice. I like that they are not both looking in the same direction. It’s going to be really beautiful after the shading and colour.

Thanks, man. Funny, I just started incorporating Kohlrabi in my diet about a month ago, with quinoa, and apples or pears as a side. I love the purple with the veins running through the leaf or the whole plant with its strange clusters, but rainbow chard got the nod due to the different colors. I have started to get heavy on…

Sweeeeet! I especially love that you have the Jason Butcher – so that you can see what it looks like from the proper perspective, rather than either upside down or as a mirror reflection.

replied to the topic Did I pay too much for my tattoo? in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 10 years, 3 months ago
It all depends on the artist. $150/hr is average shop rate here, but locally I go to an artist who charges $200/hr and she is worth it. My side-piece from her was about 24 hours.
I have several pieces about the size that you are describing that I have paid $1000, $1500 and $2000 for (they ranged from 7 to 14 hours each) from ‘top shelf’…[Read more]

Nice. I think you should definitely keep it! 😎
Are the pics from when it was fresh, or more recent? (The tucked up sleeve and brighter colour in the first pic makes me think it was taken when fresh.)

Nice job. It must have been really cool for your client to see, it’s a different view than the client usually gets.

It’s pretty cool when that happens. It’s sweet to know that you’re sporting a piece that they’re really proud of. (Saw the artist using yours just the other day jerryatrophy!)

replied to the topic new tattoo…too dark? in the forum Inked Skin 10 years, 4 months ago
It looks much darker because it is still fresh and hasn’t grown layers of skin over the ink yet. Wait and let it heal. If in 3 or 4 months it still is different enough to bother you, just go in for a touch-up to have the edges blended a bit. But I bet that you won’t need it.

replied to the topic Choosing Reference Material in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 10 years, 4 months ago
It never hurts to give them reference pictures that show them what direction you are thinking, so that you both know that you are on the same page. But it ALWAYS helps to give an artist of that caliber the freedom to draw it as they ‘see’ it, and how it will best fit (both on the body and with the flow of the piece).

She looks way better than your fixer-upper. Like a hundred times better.
The older one is a bit of a mess, can’t wait to see how it looks after it gets reworked.
