Sadly no new tattoo still… life’s been pretty much a mess… lol! There’s lot of family issues at the moment and I’ve been stressed to the hilt. To the point where I then feared I was pregnant, but it turned out that it was the stress causing my period to stop, and my hyperthyroidism that was causing the queeziness. lol!
Family issues are now hopefully sorted (I will instead of the baby I was terrified of growing in me, and at the same time all excited about, end up with a very troubled teenager oming to live with us)… but a lot can happen between now and when things are supposed to be sorted.
Will post piccies when I finally get around to it (have already been booked, but had to cancel).
Love the idea of the design you’re getting!
My tattoo didn’t hurt at all. I got mine on my lower back. At most it was a slight irritating feeling, like a vibration.
Best of luck!
Beautiful – absolutely love the shading…
Possibly a funked up version of one of these:
Just do a google on Polynesian/Tahitian/etc tattoo, I’m sure you’ll find similar ones.
Firstly… I’m so sorry for your loss. (((((hugs)))))
But as SallyMac said:
If the wings do not make you feel like that… but instead make you feel “trashy”, then I think that the option for you is probably laser removal. However, if you’re just terrified that people will treat you differently beacuse you got a little tattoo, then leave it be…. It’s just a little tattoo. Wear dark tights or socks and no-one can see it… chances are no-one can even see it if you wear shoes!
I really like it! I’m figuring that the “flame” shapes around the “screen” is going to look like rifts in the skin, which will also look fab.
Be warned… numbers and small lines will not look much like numbers and lines after a few years.
The tattoo I got is actually a barcode! lol! (Had it done before Dark Angel was out… It also says “Made In” and the place I was concieved underneath. I was so chuffed with it when I got it – never seen one like it…had planned it for yonks… and then Dark Angel came to the screen, and suddenly lots of people were walking about with barcode tattoos). The barcode now looks more like a black rectangle with a smaller rectangle underneath were the writing was. Never the less, I still adore my tattoo. lol!
ROFL! Not the thing you want to hear a sibling do… atleast not the thing I want to hear my sibling do. ROFL! And ouch… not the sort of place I’d ever consider having a tattoo… and definately not a spider! Eeeeeeeeek!
Yes, we do have Subways here too. lol! But I have to say, the subs themselves (ie, the bread) is much nicer in the US, then here in the UK. When we lived in the US, we used to go to Subway all the time… here we only go if we’re close to starving and there’s nothing better in sight. That said, I still love their hot chicken sub. Also Burger King is much better in the US, and I used to love that we could get mashed potato at KFC there (here you only get fries).
I’ve actually never met anyone in real life that’s ever complained about how painful a tattoo was… never. I think the most I’ve ever heard anyone ever say is “yes, it was fairly painful right here on the bone, but well worth it”. lol!
However, I listened to the friend of my friend screaming like a piglet whilst getting her done (me, my friend, and this girl had ours done at the same time)… only to say afterwards “that wasn’t painful at all”. ROFL!
Oh, and “arse” is a much cooler word then “ass”… and my spell check says “colour”, therefore colour must surely be the correct way of spelling it..? 😉
Difficult to find any pictures that’s clear of the tattoo… but from what I read it was originally a tribal dragon tattoo, which he wanted to add something too… and didn’t liek the result and is now either having it removed or have had it removed (if one is to believe the gossip online).
This was the best picture I could find of it, which isn’t really good at all…
I’ll use the last job I had as an example… I worked in a shop, where not just sold items, but also created items… in the creation process I normally ended up having to hold a conversation with the customers anything from 2 minutes to half an hour.
I know for a fact that if I had ink on show, a lot of the customers would have choosen not to use the shop I worked at. I also know that tattoos are a great conversation point… however: The people who would have talked to me about ink would have bought something there anyway, whereas the ones who are opposed to tattoos would not. Instead they would have found it ackward to hold a conversation with me whilst waiting for the creation process to take place. And we would have lost all the customers that find visible tattoos (or any tattoos for that matter) offensive, but would not have gained any customers by having tattoos on show.
As it was, no-one knew I had a tattoo, unless a customer came in with ink on show, and we then normally started chatting about it (once a customer stripped down to his underwear to show me his tats… ROFL!)… and yes, if asked, I had no objection pulling my trousers down a bit to show mine.
Only once did customers spot my tattoo without us chatting about it, and that was my trying to eel myself under some shelves to pull out some stuff for two lovely elderly ladies… shirt came up, trousers got pulled down, and my lower back was on full display – next thing I heard was the two ladies cracking up laughing, and it was the conversation point until they left about 10 minutes later. But… they didn’t buy beacuse I had a tattoo, and luckily they found the humour in it (it is fairly funny), instead of finding it offensive.
I will of course cunsult with the tattoo artist before getting it… but I’d like to have decided on the area first… lol! It should be ok then, as it is a burn scar, but it was never deep, just left a scar, that runs across the top of my wrist.
With my first tattoo, and the one I’m getting on the leg, I have chose to have them in an area that can be easily covered up… whereas with this one I want it in an eara that’s constantly exposed. My partner is suggesting I have it higher up on my inner arm, but again it’s the lack of exposure that is concerning me (not that I’m that interested in people seeing it, I’m not. The tattoo is for me, not for anyone else, but I want it on exposed skin, due to what it means to me… it’s a symbol of protection).
I’m probably making a big fuss about anything… it could well be that the tattoo artist manages to calm my fear of having it on my inner wrist… lol!
Ans Matthew… I’m so sorry to hear of your childhood…. (((((hugs)))))
Eeeeeeeeek! lol! ‘fraid it’s not the blood I’m scared of, so it didn’t work… lol! I don’t really know what my fear there is, but it just seems to wrong with the veins showing like that.
I’m glad to hear it’s the same there as the rest… it certainly doesn’t look the same *studies wrist*
Different question… I could go for it on top of my wrist, not the back. However, I want it on my right hand, and I got a scar running across the top of my wrist there (college cooking accident… lol!). Would the scar I got there effect it? I know that people sometimes gets tattoos to cover up scars, so I’m assuming not….
Fot the OP: I don’t think anyone, enither your wife, nor your wife’s parents are ashamed of your tattoos. It’s more the case of not wanting to upset grandma.
I got the same feeling regarding my father… When I got my tattoo (it’s low on the back), I showed it to my mother, but I choose not to show it to my father. In my fathers eyes, I’m still his little princess playing with dolls… and little princesses playing with dolls do not have a tattoo across their back. I’m sure my mother told him, but unless he ever asked to see it, I wouldn’t show.
But… he did see it anyway. Playing horseshoes on the lawn, I was throwing, my father and my friend standing behind me. And my friend ran up and pulled my trousers and knickers down a bit to check out what my tattoo looked like at that point (she also had one done at the same time as me, and hadn’t seen it since the tattoo palour, 5 years before). My father saw it, and since then we’ve both been pretending that has never happened. lol!
My father isn’t against tattoos. He’s got one himself. But just like your wifes family not wanting grandma to think that your wife might actually have married a man, and not some “perfect” religious prince… both me and my father want the illusion of me being a “perfect” little girly princess.
I did tell my family, with my father included, that I am shortly getting a tattoo on my leg. But as opposed to the rest of the family, I will never show it to my father unless he asks to see it. Reason I felt I had to inform everyone was that me and my partner (yes, he’s my husband now… but the word “husband” seems very alien to me) recently got married, and instead of a wedding ring I want a tattoo to commemorate our marriage instead.
Hah! But the tattoo to commemorate the marriage has been changed a bit… lol! I have for the last 4 years planned of getting a tattoo on the inside of my left leg, not related to the marriage. But my partner likes my idea so much he wants to get one like it too. Which is a a big thing, as he’s generally opposed to tattoos . So instead of getting one that symbolises our partnership, we’ll both go for the religious one I’ve had planned to do for the last few years.
2. it dont heal quickly because of the movement it has
3. its a major public viewing area
the wrist aint as bad as you think, them veigns aint as close to the surface as you think they are.
Cheers for that! Yes, it’s the fading I’m worried about on the palm…
But you haven’t calmed me on the wrist bit! ROFL! I swear if the veins were more visible then they are now, they’d be on top of the skin (I’m extremely pale… going on skimmed milk blueish colour. lol! and got very thin wrists)… I’m sure they’re just like any other persons veins… but they sure don’t look it! lol!
I know you should never rush into getting tattoos (the one on the leg I decided on 4 years ago)… but I need this tattoo. Clearly I do not need it as such, I’m sure the sun will rise again without me getting it… but I’ve gotten it into my mind that I must have this, and it must be in an exposed area (but of course the conservative part of my brain is telling me it must also not be in view… just exposed)… and I know myself well enough to know that this tattoo is the only thing that will be on my mind until I get it (am on the autistic spectrum, and will get completely absorbed into things and ideas… this time the little tattoo).
