If you like the look without balls, have you tried any pincher jewelry?
If you keep the circular barbell, you might consider annodized in blue or green to match your eyes.:) -

Nice.
Not original because the image is just too famous.
I would leave the boats out, but the rest is a nice design. -

Granted, but in a genius move Al Qaeda recruits you for Jihad. You end up covered in c-4 when you fly into the White House. The weapons defense systems fail to identify a flying dumb ass as a threat. The resulting explosion kills you and destroys half of Pennsylvania avenue, but leaves the President unharmed as he is in Hawaii on Vacation.

replied to the topic How do you become a tattoo artist in america? in the forum US Tattoo and Piercing – Artists and Parlours 14 years, 10 months ago
Tattooing is still a largely unregulated and underground skill trade. That is, you find a Master to teach you, you become a journeyman after your Master has given his blessing, and you become a “master” when you take on an apprentice of your own.
The accepted method in the industry is to serve a formal apprenticeship. The cost and length is…[Read more] -

1. Every artist prefers a different method of aftercare.
2. While not unheard of, recovering will actually slow your healing and cause more ink lost.
3. The tattoo is straight tribal and should be very easy to get touched up.
4. Any small cut, scrape, etc. needs air to heal quickly. Uncover that bitch and give it a quick was 3-4 times a day. -

LOL!
There are SOOO many complimentary ideas for tattoos that suggesting one without any background on the person is impossible. When you suggest ideas in person, they are either like, “ok that’s good, letes do it!” (WTF?) or “No, I hate that. No, I hate that too. No, I hate that too. etc.
My first question is always, “what are you in to?” -

Dude!
I would ring the existing tattoo with a crown of thorns! Black n Grey work fading into the clouds on the front. Clouds with beams of light is the unifying theme for all the other work as well. Doves here and there. Just silouettes to indicate birds in flight. -

interesting.
I would avoid a sleeve if you are using the same scratcher that did the rest of your ink.
The lightning thing will look very bad unless you go to a pro shop and they plan it out. I would advise japanese style clouds and air effects personally. It would look nice in black and grey. You might want to consider having a real shop re-ink…[Read more] -

Nice freekin ink!
You should really consider going full sleeve. The new ink is very good, and it looks like you have a blank space now. You will get tired of people asking, “what is going to be there?”
Trust me! -

I would suggest you wait until the skin has returned to normal. That is, done healing. If you still have scabbing, I wouldnt do any work on you. The time frame is normally three to four weeks for a fully healed tattoo. BUT, this is only a rough idea. Some tattoos take longer to heal, and some take less time.
Be patient. The tattoo will be…[Read more] -

You really are unmotivated.

Have the birds circling each other?
Kinda like a yin and yang/twins symbolism. It has great meaning to you, and its cool. I would personally add in other symbolism, like a compass rose, etc.
What artist are you using?

Nice.
I have a friend at EA that has an idea for a similar sleeve, but she cant get up the stones to go full sleeve. (even though she 4 other tatts.)The theme sleeve idea is catching on.
I drew up a cartoon character sleeve design using all cereal mascots. Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam, Lucky the Leprechaun, Sonny from Cocoa Puffs, Sugar Bear,…[Read more] -

Tribal is dead. It is so ugly when done huge or bad, which it mostly is.
If you really, really, really like the idea…
Look into traditional polynesian or Maori designs. There is an artist (sorry I forgot his name) who lived in Hawaii and follows traditional patterns. The designs are tight, geometric, and mostly executed in browns, rust, and…[Read more] -

Right. And sometimes a collaboration will take the tattoo in a great new direction. I do all original work. I refuse to rip off another artist’s ink. Show your artist the picture that INSPIRES you and help them come up with YOUR tattoo. More than once I have had to tell a client, “no I wont do that tattoo, its already been done.”
Ideas however,…[Read more] - Load More
