Pretty nice.
The tree could stand some work. The design reminds me of high school sketches in a spiral notebook. The others are real nice though. -

Make damn sure of the design. Its gonna be there for a while.:D
I would charge you a $100 for a one-off.
If you come as a group, the artist may give you a discount.
For three or more, I would ask like $80 a piece. -

I would start with a hibiscus lower back, hip area. A full plant, with lots of leaves and flowers. Bright greens, reds, and oranges. A nice, pretty, girly flower pieces. (hibiscus blooms only last a day and then they die and fall off, to many – this represents the transitory nature of beauty and youth.)
Up into the ribs, the leaves give way to…[Read more] -

A solid idea is great, but…
It ain’t gonna ink itself.
Find an artist you trust and get a collaboration going. Until you talk to a tattooist (and likely place a deposit) you are just wasting time. You get serious when you commit to that, not when you figure out what you want. -

Waves and cherry blossoms come to mind.
Anything Japanese will fit in. Check out Inked Nation. -

Well,
Maybe not a lightswitch, but extra nice just the same!
I have 8ga titanium hoops in mine. Love ’em. Titanium conducts cold much less than stainless. Thats a plus if you live anywhere it gets cold. A little winter breeze and its like someone stuck you in the boob with an ice pick!

Love the sleeve. I would tweek the first Ed Hardy to fit the space. It would go nicely. Turn the cat’s head to face towards the center of your chest and only have a wing on one side. That would flow right up to the shoulder and tie into the sleeve. Maybe add a rose under the wing to cover that side of the nipple.
Good luck!:D -

Hi,
Yeah the date wont be that tough to cover. Hopefully you will never need to, but this is real life my man – shit happens. Best wishes though!
As for the rest…
Nice work, but WAY too much spacing. You should consider adding work in the gaps to pull it all together. I would suggest a dove on either side of the “&” with a draped banner held…[Read more] -

Hi,
Sorry for your loss.:(
I would go for the snowflake. Any decent tattooist could rock that! There are several ways to go at the design. You can just go small traditional, no sweat. I would consider white with a bluish tint, no outline. It would be very subtle. You might have the tattooist add a drop shadow later if you decide to make it stand…[Read more] -
replied to the topic getting this tattoo next week 😛 advice first in the forum Tattoo Flash – Show Your Designs 14 years, 11 months ago
Some designs may seem like good ideas, in theory. The size is not the issue here. The sketch is far away from a design ready to become a tattoo. Have a professional rework this for you. This needs a lot of work.
The rule I follow is: If you have to explain what the design IS, then it wont be a very good finished tattoo. -

Find an artist you like and show them your idea. See what they come up with. Like Outlaw said, be prepared to pay for the service. If you dont like the results, you can always take your original to a new artist. The busier an artist is (ie in demand) the less likely they will be to invest time and effort into doing free work.
Personally, I will…[Read more] -

Very nice! I would vote to color the horns as well.
Are you leaving the sky behind in b&g? I would shoot for color added there as well. An angry purple with white accent would allow for much greater density of colors and texture as well. Very little un-inked skin in traditional japanese pieces. Its also nice to see that you have the dragon and…[Read more] -

Just tell your tattooist. They should be able to offer you an alternative. A&D is petroleum free if I am not mistaken. I have big tubs of it, just live the petroleum jelly. I would personally try coco butter, as I am certain that would work. Unless you are allergic to it! 😮
You should always inform your tattooist of any allergies, even if it…[Read more] -

I like the design as-is. It looks like stained glass. I say go for it. I would do it about 10-12 inches across centered between the shoulder blades. The outline done with a 9l would rock. IMHO

Scuba is a bad idea unless you are fully healed. Salt water will pull ink out of the skin big time! Salt was used as a meat preservative because it pulls moisture out of the tissue. Think about what it will do to your tender, recently set tattoo ink! Neoprene rubbing the skin will irritate the healing tattoo as well. I would not be suprised if you…[Read more]

If that’s the tattoo you want, get it! If it is done LARGE then it will definitely be masculine. I would suggest having it inked about the size of a silver dollar. Smaller is more girly. I would also steer you to a color other than solid black. This design would look awesome in purple with a shading fade. Personally I would put a disk of color…[Read more]

I like it! On a hot girl, that is. Like Tongue piercing, I think it would be a little off-putting to see a guy with elf ears. Done well, it could be considered appearance enhancing. I would not be suprised to see this catching on. It is subtle and feminine. It would be easier to get used to this mod than say, a 00 piercing.

replied to the topic add on to original tattoo in the forum Tattoo Ideas 14 years, 11 months ago
Yeah,
I would try colors. Say an outside in fade. Add some drop shadows for effect.
Use a tattooist who works in a lot of colors, and uses GOOD inks and you should be happy!
