Oh crap I just actually read what you wrote instead of just looking at the pretty pictures.
yes an underwater theme is pretty common so I wouldn’t be pissed about that I would be pissed that it you pick the wrong tattooist at that shop.
Yeah im upset about that, but his portfolio and the work he usually does is mainly American traditional, nothing of his previous work showed that he would turn something out like what he has here.
I know an underwater scene is quite common, I think I’m just looking at the more subtle things like the color, having two different blues in the same swooping action. The bubbles, the sea horse, and the red fish. I mean there are a lot more fish in the sea, sorry that just came out like that, that could have been used. Oh well I will just take it as a compliment even if they had no idea about mine. 🙂
Geeze its been over a year since I have been back in the chair. I went in yesterday and set up an appointment for May 20th, was the first thing he had. Hopefully work doesnt send me back to South Korea around that time and I can get a couple hours in again. Would love to have this thing done before the end of the year! I will update with pics when it happens. – Other than that, pointless update.
Thanks for the info guys, Russ does some great stuff. Ill look into who you suggested CT. Im not really looking for a new school piece i just like how the new school artists really seem to bring out bright colors in everything.
No link to video but i enjoy Mudvayne’s cover of King of Pain.
I go to Tattooagogo on Magazine street. Donn Davis is who is doing my sleeve. TJ is also a great artist. I am nothing but happy with my choice to go there. Check him out.

You can’t be serious. The tattoo community is honestly filled with the most ignorant people I’ve ever encountered..holy fucking shit I’m not even kidding.
You know who actually has valid points? Real tattoo artists I meet in person who don’t know anything about me besides what I tell them. Not a bunch of middle-aged men that somehow find so much fucking free time to make fun of a 16 year old, and look fucking stupid while doing it.
Actually i was serious, can you not give me a reason as to why you added it? Instead you just come back with some awfully intelligent jargon that involves a couple curse words. As far as I know im not really part of the Tattoo community, im a regular guy with tattoos and lead a normal non-tattoo community life. And as far as middle-aged i dont know where middle age starts at but i dont think im considered that.
Instead of going on blabbering off at the mouth why not just answer my question about why you added it and keep the conversation civil?
Ill ask from an “artistic point of view, since i dont know you”. What exactly were you trying to provide by adding the fire and smoke and lightning, I guess its not smoke…sorry…clouds? That has nothing to do with the bible scripture which i guess is supposed to be Joel 2:25-26? It really seems to muddy things up. Also why the fire on the cross? Isnt that what the Klan did?
I think you should step back yourself and take some of the other peoples advice and maybe look into a different artist. Dont just automatically blow them off because they gave you shit about a mediocore tattoo, which this was in the beginning. Most of these people have experience in the tattoo world and have very valid points. Oh well theres my 2 cents from my pedestal on high.
I wore a shirt just to keep from getting ink on anything. If you wear a loose fitting long sleeve cotton tee it will breathe just fine. When im asleep i have no idea what crazy things my arm is doing i could end up with it across my forehead.
I put a little ointment on it and wore a long sleeve cotton shirt. No troubles.
Looks great! I like the idea you had to fill in the inside, think it looks awesome!
Looks good, ive been lurking your posts waiting on you to actually get the ink laid down. I like it. I at one time pondered doing something like a totem pole but with Tiki masks, i was going to have the mask wrap around my arm the entire way as to have it seem to be wood all the way around. None the less, I like this and cant wait to see some color.
That sure does sound like 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag. What i mean by that is your trying to put a whole lot into not a very large space. I dont see how your going to put that quote in it without it being very small and nearly illegible (SP)?
