Then i am confused? I know for a fact Bri does all his work including that one that he got on a total whim…
Im gonna go back to the shop with some print outs, have another word and maybe try asking in a few more of the studios round here…To be fair cover-ups from others shops round here are pretty crappy
Your dude
Just to point out, that’s my friends leg and not the guy at the shop i’d be going with
Hey guys, first of all in response to the back piece question (ArniVidar) While i whole heartedly appreciate what you are saying, in all honesty i have no idea what i want as a back tattoo…in the 5 or so years ive being seriously thinking (if you dont count any other time toying with the idea of a back tattoo) i have not come up with anything im 100% happy with to cover such a large space, and will not settle on anything until i am. Im still young so many years left to think up a design/idea. In other words i doubt i’ll be getting one soon, so would rather get this covered now then work from there in the future.
Like i say its hard to say with the websites as they have 2 main artists plus have had a few apprentices, but seam to jumble all the pics up online which is confusing? I checked out the portfolios in the shop and they have one on cover ups alone. Im no tattooist but i was impressed my the standard of his cover up work, mind if i ask what were your impressions on the cover up work?
And in reply to the other question asked, i live in the north east Lincolnshire of the UK, Grimsby/Cleethorpes area.
In general thanks to all the replies posted, there greatly appreciated and will hopefully help guide me to getting a good cover up 🙂
Hey, this is not the artist that originally did the tattoo, but the guy im talking with about the cover up. Hopefully you can view this page without being a ‘friend’ as its on facebook. There are two main artists at the shop, the owner who specialises in cover-ups and another guy, as far as im concerned the photos shown are a mix of both there work? Not sure why as they have separate portfolios on the counter.
Tattoo facebook page (fingers crossed)

Thanks again for the info, think i’ll be popping back soon to talk to the guy 🙂
Hey guys! Thanks for the responses, just to verify the tattooist i used was a very well recommended artist in my area, we discussed what i wanted and after doing a few different sketches he advised using a stencil for the star then free handing what should have been the ”shaded” tail to make the shooting star. I was confident in him doing this as he seamed professional and to know exactly how i wanted it. Again ‘shaded’ not block colour! After being fobbed of that ”as it heals the colour will fade out and look like what i asked for” =/ It’s now 2 years down the line and the shop has closed (go figure!)
I’ve found an artist who specialises in cover up tattoos, spoken to him (who suggested the flower approach) and a few others to get different opinions.
Seams the way to go would be with the flowers, just one more question, would a lotus flower be suitable to cover it, or would it need to be something as the above post suggested with more lines?
Thanks again, and thanks for not cracking jokes on how awful a tattoo it is! I know, ive heard them all
