Hmmm…….Gemma should just get her whole arm blacked out. Or if you want to be feminine about it, go “spray-tan orange”. Solid. Pit to wrist. And you guys should just fuck and get it over with…..I’ll tattoo the ass of whoever’s the top. (and take a photo or two for posterity)

some people are allergic to red pigments. If you are, you’d experience occasional swelling and itching in the area that is tattooed red. Kind of like tattoo shaped hives.
There’s no reason for red to scab more than other colors, though. That is usually due to the application by the tattooist. He may have just slightly overworked it while…[Read more]

beautiful color and composition. Always drives me nuts, though, when anatomy gets botched

two full forearm tattoos in B&G with a few choice highlights here and there and you could get very detailed. Find someone with a “soft touch” who brushes in their greywork with small groupings …as opposed to the big mag scrubbing that works well for large gradations. Alice in wonderland-ish playing card royalty always looks cool too…..?

not much of a helpful post from me but I gotta say that I simply can not fathom the total lack of self-respect anyone must have to swipe someone else’s portfolio.
On the plus side, most of that looks like it’s going to drop out…except for the one place she actually got the ink in the skin which is blown out.Hope that hack cries herself to…[Read more]

I have pretty flowers all over me, mixed in with all sorts of other stuff. They make a nice color pattern when you start surrounding them with B&G work, too

replied to the topic what style is this? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years, 4 months ago
I’d call that ‘pseudo-tribal’. It’s got a bit of several types of genuine tribal in it it seems. Beautiful stuff. When I first thought of going for a lot of coverage this is the kind I wanted.

replied to the topic how would you describe the pain? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 13 years, 4 months ago
the needling hurt differently in different areas (no sh*t, David) but no matter the discomfort I’ve found that the whole “take a deep breath, let it out slowly and relax as you exhale” thing actually will change the sensation from terrible to tolerable. What I can’t relax my way out of is a tattooist that dry wipes the inked skin! A dry paper…[Read more]

One of the traditional tattooing styles. A strip running down the center of the top half of the body is left clear of tattoos. It is a style developed originally to avoid tattoos showing from the collar line when one wears kimono.
I believe the same goes for the 3/4 sleeve.…[Read more]

just outta curiosity: what was the meaning behind the cartoony, blackwork dragon?
And, yeah, you could throw just about anything around it, but since it’s asymmetrical it’ll look off if you fill out your upper back with a balanced design. Zap it or find yourself a coverup genius.

The only tattoo I have that doesn’t get the nod from my wife is a small one on my head. In my early twenties I thought it would be cool to have a hidden tattoo, so I shaved a small chunk out of my hairline and had just a dopey geometric shape lined in there. By the time I was in my early thirties I turned into a baldy and now I’ve got this stupid…[Read more]

Future plans for getting tattooed basically revolve around finding someone who can successfully cover up the random crap I had done before I changed my mind and decided that large, flowing work looks a hell of a lot better than a smash of small tattoos! Oh, well: I’m also considering going on a cake diet and packing on a hundred pounds to try and…[Read more]

I’m one of those delicate people who heal like shit, no matter who’s done the work or how I go about the aftercare. Any type of ointment in the first few days just keeps the plasma bubbling up so I’ve found the best thing I can do is keep them clean and otherwise leave ’em the hell alone. I also get keloid scars from anything more substantial…[Read more]

Thanks for checking out the work. The piece you like is actually an old etching I made approx 20 years ago…didn’t get around to printing it until this year. There’s definitely a vast difference between what I can do on paper and what I can accomplish in skin, so I approach every tattoo cautiously. I would currently rate my tattooing as…[Read more]
