Yeah it’s entirely up to you. Was it worth your time and his? How much was it worth to you? Any artist would appreciate a tip if they said the touch up was free.

Okay well the point is… Putting in the words OLD SCHOOL is stating the obvious. If putting the date in isn’t your style, and you don’t want his name… Take out the ribbon for text. If you ask for opinions on a forum, then you’re not going to get a sugar coated answer.

Tattooing your nails looks tacky… On acrylic nails as said above, you can do a lot of tasteful things. Annnnd.. killer (I know) but they can last you up to 6 months if you keep filling them in.

Ya if you’re wanting more detail than shown, you’ll want an artist who’s good at custom/improv work. This wouldn’t be a very detailed piece on its own.

So I like the design. Where are you putting it? What colors are you going with?

I like the calf idea. I’m not much into football badges… but things of that sort shouldn’t be in primary locations for later growth and more detailed pieces.

I think it would look better in a different color rather than caps.

I love the design. My only complaint would be that the ribbon says “Old School” in it. If it’s to commemorate your grandpa, why not have something about him. Like his birthday and passing…? I don’t know, just a suggestion.

To add, maybe curve the head to either side and point the beak a little more. It’s a bird right? Not a red angel. 🙂

What more does it actually need? Does the design need more? Maybe a touch up if you got it when you were quite a bit younger, but I’d leave it alone unless you were wanting to cover it up…

This might be odd… but the first thing I thought of was a fortune cookie with that text shooting out one side. Or a cracked open fortune cookie with the fortune sticking out. That would be pretty bad ass… Not going to lie.

Or you could do something that represents fortune to you and wrap the lettering around it.

I’m not big on word tattoos but that lettering seems very elegant. I recommend a very delicate place on your body like under the bust line or on your wrist.
