Noticed I screwed up in my last response and can’t seem to find an edit capability – not enough coffee. My reply should have said that several times that day I was in situations where I could have been killed, from the initial impact where the plane went directly under our office suite, to the explosion that blew in our windows and left holes in…[Read more]

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my art – it does have tremendous meaning and, given this was the 15th anniversary, it seemed time to do something for myself. I was very close to the point of impact and several times could have ended up walking out that day. This piece is a recognition of that day, as well as the 26 years I served on…[Read more]

Had this done on September 10th – still healing and am celebrating the loss of the last scab today during my shower!! Woo Hoo!! As a survivor of the Pentagon on 9/11 I wanted something to commemorate that experience as well as my military service. I absolutely love it – the eagle stands on a pentagonal piece of rubble looking intent as the sun…[Read more]

Welcome! I think it is looking great! I didn’t notice the moon until you mentioned it – the rest is awesome and captures the eye. The moon could have been better…but the rest is so good!!

I believe it represents the Crescent Moon – one of the oldest symbols used in history. As opposed to the Sun, which was perceived as having male properties, the Moon as seen as being representative of the female side. The Sun, Moon and stars were seen as giving off energy that could be used and captured. The energy of the Moon related to…[Read more]

I learned quickly that a key is to use just a little of whatever you are putting on it. It looks to me like you have some scabbing and some small bumps under the skin in places – you may be having a mild allergic reaction to the ink. That would account for the itching. Did you try taking Benadryl? It is non-prescription and might knock the itch…[Read more]

I am a newbie to the world of tattoos but both age and my first tattoo have validated the advantages of some lotion each day. I also use Aveeno of late but have also used cocoa butter in the past, too. I generally apply a light amount after showering in the morning and then before bed. The key seems to be a “light” amount just like during the…[Read more]

I should, perhaps, be tragically affected by some comment aimed my way…but since I can’t see it I will blissfully remain contented. I am reminded of a device my father-in-law had for years. It was called The Bug Zapper. It was a light surrounded by electrical coils that you would hang outside at night – bugs would be attracted by the light and…[Read more]

I have to thank the Mods for providing the “Ignore” function. Watching this train-wreck-in-motion having used Ignore has been sublime. It certainly has reinforced my thoughts on the winning combination of arrogance, self-entitlement and immaturity.
I will be sending my tattooist a message this morning to stop his work on designing my next tattoo.…[Read more]

For us older folks – The quote comes from Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye and the Laughing Man moniker comes from the title of another Salinger book. Ghost in the Shell is an anime series and Laughing Man is one of the characters.
You are certainly able to put anything you want on your body – the design is simple and any mediocre or better artist…[Read more]
