I shave the area for all my tattoos. My first tattoo my artist shaved the area it was going and when i asked why he said if we tried to tattoo over the hair it would dull the needles faster and could possibly cause infection.
So yes it is the right thing. Help your artist out and preshave. If you miss a spot he/she will fix it for you.

Ok so i have 14 tattoo already this would make my 15th and my first time getting an infection. So i did what i was told and now its healing up but the problem is that its healing up very tight, and wrinkly and the whole tattoo from my bend in my elbow to my wrist is glossed over and wrinkly almost like a person with chapped lips.
