I really don’t have an answer for you, but more of a suggestion. Have you tried talking to your artist? A good artist will not work on you if you have a health issue that may complicate things. So if you have not spoken to your artist, try that.

Well this is my response as a fellow smoker who has their tongue pierced:

Your piercer will (should) advise you not to smoke while healing. For one, smoking does affect our overall ability to heal.
