Looks good man. Who was the artist? RAF? Or somebody else?
Well the simple lines and 2-d shapes are what I wanted. I had it drawn buy an apprentice named Corey at karmic tattoo in Georgia. But the ink was done by Rafael rivera at tattoo jungle in Alabama. He didn’t sketch anything. So the sketch is very simple and plain and not amazing I know. But the color is good and vibrant and the shading is amazing. If RAF had sketched it too it would have looked “better” In a lot of peoples minds but I had it sketched the way I wanted.
And gsouder, that was funny lol
I meant post* this iPod auto correct is dumb. And Chill man.
That’s cool! Can’t wait to see what you get!
The one dimensional look is exactly what I was going for. I have other designs that I plan on doing in different styles. But this came out the way I wanted. The artist Is Rafael rivera at tattoo jungle in Pelham Alabama. His personal art website is http://www.woundedlamb.com
Read all the depots man., we have had this discussion a hundred times already.
Cool man like I said RAF at tattoo jungle is great he did mine but he only works on weekends. And I know Greg at skinworx Is good, idk about the other artist there I’d talk to both see which one is more your style dont rush anything, it’s gonna be there forever.
Can’t wait to see the changes and new ideas.
Thanks for pretty much saying everything that was already said. And not really offering any solution to the problem….I mean we had this worked out and you two have to come in and keep going with the insults. Real mature.
Anyway man if you’re in Alabama the place to go is the tattoo jungle in Pelham Alabama talk to the artist Rafael Rivera. He’s great, fair priced and can make that guardian angel idea look great. I drive 8 hours roundtrip to have my work done by him. Rafaels personal website is http://www.woundedlamb.com
yeah certain flowers on a guy are feminine or girly,
but you could have it done in a “manly” way.
a black and grey portrait/floral scene wouldn’t be girly.
I like the guardian angel idea.
but I wouldn’t go back to the same artist.
his line work isn’t the best and if he’s offering to do that huge tribal back design for $160
he’s probably not the best artist. you can look at the tattoo on my forearm in my album.
it’s 4 inches long and 3 inches wide. so it’s small. I got it done for $150 and that was a discount.
you get what you pay for. good tattoos aren’t cheap, and cheap tattoos aren’t good.
I would go to a nice place. don’t make money an issue. save until you have the cash to get some amazing work. It’s on you forever. you say your mom liked to work in her garden. you could have an amazing garden scene with flowers and trees and maybe show you and her together with you helping out in the garden. your back piece could easily be turned into a great memorial for her.
or maybe you and her at a beach, somehow incorporating the skimboarding into it.
idk man.
don’t leave the forum just because people gave their opinion of your tattoo after you asked for it.
if you’re happy, then fine. it’s your tattoo, not mine.
everybody likes different things. don’t leave the forum because the world doesn’t agree with you.
thaks.
the inspiration came from a lot of things.
my religion christianity. which is why the man is praying with the dove flying over
and there are crosses incorporated into the hourglass wood.
basically symbolizing praying and being led through storms in life and struggles, by god.
also a big part of the inspiration came from the fact that I was born with Cystic Fibrosis
the average life expectancy is around 34 years.
which is why there are cracks in the hourglass
even though you can kinda know when your time runs out.
you could get hit by a car or shot any minute
so you never really know and you just gotta live for today.
if that means “growing from the smallest things” and skimboarding” and not getting/feeling down about stuff,” then so be it. but I’m not getting that meaning out of it.
all I see is a poorly done tribal. sorry about your mom dying, but that tattoo is trash. fix it and get a better memorial while you still can. before your whole back if filled with that crap.
thanks everybody. this forum seems friendly.
the artist of my tattoos is Rafael rivera at the tattoo jungle in pelham alabama.
he’s a great tattoo artist and freelance artist/comicbook/movie animation guy.
haha, nope, no suited politicians crammed in an hourglass,
my idea is more or less, making my back one giant hourglass, and having anti war symbolism in it.
not to start any arguments since this isn’t the place, but I fully respect troops from any country, I respect them and their service, and it is honorable.
I just don’t like war, and killing. I’m sure everybody can agree,
a perfect world would have peace and no wars.
but there would be protesters throwing things, and riot control people fighting back, lots of grenades, and bombs cracking the hourglass which symbolizes time, since eventually if people keep fighting nuclear war would destroy everything. anyway lots of detail and chaos.
but the backpiece is way in the future and not fullythought out yet. I’m taking my time since it’s a big piece.
anyway, i still haven’t figured out exactly how to post pics here, but I uploaded 3 pics of my forearm tattoo to my album which you can view and rate.
