It takes about 4-6 weeks to heal. I’ve had my lip piercing for over 2 years and it’s the easiest and most comfortable piercing I’ve ever gotten 😛 Easy to hide, easy healing and usually doesn’t leave a noticable scar.

If the piercing is completely healed when it comes to breastfeeding, it shouldn’t be a problem. Just take it out while you’re feeding so your baby doesn’t choke 😛 And about the jewelry, it differs from person to person. Some find it more comfortable to have a pin and some like the rings.

If you’re not sure, wait and get it when you are sure. And be aware that the navel piercing can be really difficult. I think you may have had the same problem as I. You said you could see the bar through the nipple and it left a scar….that sounds like it was improperly done. Don’t you think your daughter should get to decide herself if she wants the piercings? Not to mention the pain, risk of infection and it’s also more likely your daughter will develope an allergy to metals.
So I think you should wait and see if your daughter wants them herself later on when she’s capable of making the decision herself.
