No, not promoting anything. I hadn’t even heard of that shop until I searched for it today. I was just seeing if there were any other good options. Yes I posted on another forum the same question and it was a good thing I did because I found another good suggestion there. If posting links in reference to other artists is against the rules then…[Read more]

The problem with your question is that it depends on what style. For example, the cute cartoony style her quality seems good to me. the shading is good and the detail is right on. On the rest of her portfolio is not so good. The details, perspective and shading seems off to me.So I guess the answer, for me any way, is that…[Read more]

Her cartoony female tats are really good but I wouldn’t get anything other than that from her.Something to think about: You could be a walking billboard for one artist or you could target tattoo artists that match the style of each tattoo that you get. It is different yeah. I didn’t have a particular style in mind for this one. I just took a picture in and kind of let the artist do her thing.

Got it finished. Thought I’d post pics here instead of starting a new thread. The artist wanted to take some before I left so these were taken 10 minutes after it was finished, thus the swelling and blood etc. Ignore the huge scar/stretch mark, it will go down eventually. I will try to get another picture of the tree when I can.
Or you can go…[Read more]

yeah I do like that concept and would like to do something like that sometime. I’m not sure I want to do it with this one though. I’m going to put something else in each heart, and don’t really think it would look right in black and white.

This is what it looked like when I got home and cleaned it up. So not sure what happened. Also, I had put on a little bit of sunscreen earlier that day, over it. Don’t know if that would’ve done anything.

replied to the topic Tipping on larger pieces in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 14 years, 11 months ago
think I might be messing it up already… I know I can get touch-ups but this doesn’t seem normal. I was told just to wash it with antibacterial soap (no washcloth, just fingers) and let air dry or pat with paper towel.
They didn’t recommend a&d ointment.
Then I could put on a little bit of lotion (cetaphil) a couple times a day to keep it…[Read more]

hmm yeah I didn’t think about shading behind it… It’s going to be a half sleeve, but just did the centerpiece right now. Being a sleeve I didn’t want this piece to lose focus with all of the other stuff around it, maybe some shading behind this piece would pop it out a little from the rest of the background? I don’t know.
and yeah I did tip…[Read more]

thanks for the help. I certainly plan on tipping, that wasn’t in question as I know how important the work is. I was just wondering, since the piece will be more than one sitting, if it was customary to tip (relative to the amount done that day) each sitting or only after the whole thing was finished.
thanks again
