I wear dresses with girly cardigans fairly often and I have tattoos on both of my forearms (a teal and pink octopus, a small text tattoo, and a fairly large Wonder Woman that takes up my whole right forearm). I honestly think the juxtaposition of girly clothing and (almost) any tattoos looks really good. I also have to ask- what do you mean by “harsh”?

I think I’ve honestly seen more cars with “Barbie” on them than girls. That being said, if it was a smaller tattoo it wouldn’t be that bad.

Thanks! I did it because I’m allergic to most metals. It’s a good tattoo to have, but be prepared to have a lot of people to ask why you have “diabetic” on your body. I was a cashier and I could count on hearing that question at least a few times a week.

Purple is my favorite color…hmmm.

The pose is close to something I’m looking for. The suit’s definitely too dark/painted on for my tastes though.

I have two smaller tattoos and one larger one my forearms from different artists with very different skill levels. I honestly didn’t even consider sleeves until I got my third on my arms. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my first post: I have a few piercings as well. I have three holes in my left, three in my right, and my right rook. I’m also in the process of stretching my lobes- I’m up to a 6 at the moment. My eventual goal is 1/2″. 🙂

I’ve had my share of discrimination, but there are also more companies that are accepting of tattoos. I have both forearms tattooed and I was happily employed at both Target and Chipotle, with co-workers that were more heavily tattooed than me. It’s nice to see that there are some places that really don’t care.

I think it’s great. I have had quite a few great conversations based on people just asking me questions about mine and likewise, there are plenty of strangers I’ve talked to as well. The most disapproving people I’ve encountered are usually older, but it made my day (week? month?) when an older gentleman, at least 70, told me that I had awesome tattoos.
