Not too difficult a cover up bro. (That is as long as you go to a competent artist.) and remember if you go to a tattooist and they try to tell you (Really on most cover-ups) that you have to use Tribal, or an all black design, chances are they are not good enough to be doing coverups, just keep that in mind bro. Anyone that uses that as a cop-out just doesn’t have the ability to be doing coverups. You should be able to find a piece that you like for the cover-up (Given that it will work, and there are many that will work if you have what it takes) Just find a competent local artist, and try to remember that the cost should ALWAYS be 2nd. remember these are for life and good tattoos aren’t cheap (Especially coverups)
Also, I should say that I apologize for kinda hijacking your post without atleast first contributing to your thread. I think you have a talent my friend!! Very nice work. Do you tattoo, or only draw flash? Either way it’s very nice. Kudos!!
Thanks man, I appreciate that.
Cool, good shit. Thanks guys I appreciate that.
lets see if that worked???
(edit) I voted all 10’s for your first 40 I hope you feel better now.
Note: these don’t deserve 10’s as much as they don’t deserve 1’s
Lol Buttweat, thanx man. and No Wardy it’s not that I think my work is some stellar shit or anything, but when I look through others albums and see tattoos that are truly amazing and they have a fucking 3 rating or some shit it kinda burns my ass, as Artists we all take a certain amount of pride in our work and if anything most of us are our largest critics. It’s only that I sort of like the idea of having a rating system, I only wish that it were used correctly and rated strictly by persons that intend on rating them fairly and not just to be an ass. It’s really too bad because in theory it’s a nice thought but will never work due to fucking immature kids with nothing better to do.
Cool, no real reason why. It’s just that for some dumb reason several forums over the years would have Mod’s that would go all apeshit if anyone posted actual pics and not just the link??? I have never seen the harm but yet they have had these rules regardless. Thanks for clearing that up for me though. Occasionally over the last 5 years I would try and seek out a decent Tattoo related forum, and have ALWAYS been nothing but let down. I’m pretty happy as it seems that I have finally found a decent forum. So, looks like i’ll be sticking around for a while!
“I am the guy who posted the OP.
It’s common on the forum we post on to do whatever we can to “troll” other posters on the forum we deem uncool. It’s a 4chan thing I suppose, and most of us who do it also play Xbox 360 games together and we get a laugh out of it (our lulz). It’s also common to try to one up the next guy in terms of trolling, so I wanted to set the bar higher. This Koriwhat guy is our whipping boy for that. He’s easily roused into a fevered, high pitched (I can imagine) meltdown anytime we mention his calf tats and the fact that he’s a secretary who didn’t graduate high school.
It’s not that we hate him, we don’t actually. We love the guy. He’s the class retard we all gather around and chant “calf tat calf tat calf tat” and he gets flustered and falls down sobbing. We feel better for a quick moment and move on to gang up on other targets.
Most of us are Asians but there are a couple Pakistanis as well. We don’t like tattoos much because I haven’t seen one yet that looks good on yellow skin. I imagine a banana or a canary would look ok, you wouldn’t even need to color it, but we don’t care for pictures of our relatives on our skin. We cannot tell each other apart anyhow so it would look like someone is making a comic of a kung fu movie on our backs.
I just wanted to let everyone know who we are, and that the “itiswhatitis” guy is a serious artist with mad talentz and skillz, and that we are a group of fluffers with nothing better to do than spend countless hours amusing each other with this inane bullshit.”
Can SOMEBODY ***PLEASE*** explain to me WTF this means?? Not sure I get it…oh well…
Also, I’m not sure if it’s just the demographic of our shop in particular but when tend to pierce probably 65%-75% Teen Girls ages 16-20 (Under 18 with parent of-coarse) maybe the young age makes them more nervous by nature?
Yeah, I realize it seems high, but we have a special that runs constantly, we do $10 body piercings… So I do apx. anywhere between 15 on a slow day to 40 on say friday or saturday. So combine that with maybe 3-4 smaller tattoos or 1-2 larger pieces each day and we REALLY rack up the clients in and out so my theory is (and this is just a theory mind you) that because I have just grown used to going through the piercing process in such a quick and to the point manner, I don’t have the luxury of trying to make them feel comfortable and make small talk etc. I knock out an avg. Monroe or lower lip piercing in apx. 3 minutes, thats from the time the client walks back, I glove up lay out my barrier materiels, open needle, clamp, hemostats (if needed) jewelry etc. prep the area pierce it and hand them a care sheet. So I’m flying around and all their hearing is all this clanging, drawers opening and closing, seeing all this sterile packaging being ripped open and shiny surgical looking tools coming out and just moments later having me in their face, belly, etc. saying “OK QUICK STICK” and they are probably a little overwhelmed expecially if they already have a nervous predisposition. Also, it’s a numbers game. For example if an average piercer does 40 piercings in a week, I do that in a day so naturally I’m going to see more of everything ya know?
Much BETTER bro, all in all not a bad piece!! Do you have a lot of work? If so are they all B&G pieces?
A little trick I picked up on my own during my apprenticeship in 2006, not only do I use “What I consider to be the very best transfer gel” but I will also use a spray made by the same company. I hope it’s cool to mention a brand name, anyway it’s called “Spray Stuff” and its from the same makers as my transfer gel. After I put my stencil on I dry it really well for 2-3 minutes with a hair dryer as it will set the stencil AWESOME, THEN spray it with the spray, then another 2-3 minutes with the hair dryer. Ask your artist if he will do this method. don’t be afraid to bring a hair dryer with you (As most artists don’t have them.) What this will do is make your stencil SUPER resistant to “Wet-Wiping” with G.Soap on the paper towel rather than dry wiping, which we ALL know hurts. I mean who knows maybe he will give it a try for you and be able to dry wipe much less and at the same time pick himself up a handy little useful tip. LET ME STRESS, IF YOU ARE NOT A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL DO NOT USE ANY ADVICE AS A WAY TO LEARN TO TATTOO, THEIR IS MORE THAN YOU COULD POSSIBLY UNDERSTAND AT THIS POINT THAT IS VITAL TO THIS INDUSTRY THAT YOU WILL *****NEVER***** LEARN FROM SOME FRICKING WEBSITE OR VIDEO OR TV, OR “TATTOO SCHOOL SCAM”, If you are indeed talented do things the correct way don’t look for the quick fix because you will NEVER be looked at with any kind of respect by the Professional Tattoo Community!!!! and that is a fact!!!
Get a sunburn, then run your fingernail down it…lol
Once again not trying to be an ass, I’m just REALLY offended when people try to take the easy way out. Also, I do sincearly apologize if im off track here.
Man. I try not to be negative but it looks to me (and i apologize if I am) that you are just scratchin in your house. Do it the right way man or you’ll never make it bro. A year of tattooing and you are only at that level? That raises some serious red flags for me. Here is a pic of a tattoo that I did maybe 3 months after starting to tattoo (After a legit apprenticeship.) It’s not the best but I was still very fresh…
