Thanks all for the comments! Here is a pic I took today, all healed up. The hard part is keeping it covered up now that it’s hot outside…

Thanks Sam. I can’t wait to get some more work on it but I’m afraid I might have to wait until Christmas time to get another session. Oh the wait, the wait…

So I took the Saniderm off two days ago and there was very little to no scabbing at all. Good stuff. I’m still peeling a little but just like a very light sunburn, not big hunks like I’ve seen before. Anyway, here are a few pics. We still have a ways to go for detailing and such. Let me know what you think! (like I have to ask)

UPDATE! Sorry for the long silence. Things got busy for the end of the school year. I had my first session with Paris two days ago. It ended up a bit larger than I had originally intended but I always said, if I’m going to do it I might as well go for it! Thursday’s session was just under 4 hours. He got all of the line line work and basic…[Read more]

Thanks all. You’re comments have made me more excited, as if that was possible. This IS going to be a long couple of months!

Being a musician and a percussionist I can certainly dig this, although I think the tribal thing is overdone. I agree that a good artist can help you come up with something that you both will love for a lifetime.
On a side note (no pun intended), I love the way the treble clef is incorporated into the tribal pattern. Clever.
Did you design…[Read more]

Ok, I think I figured it out (admittedly through google searches as well, so it MUST be true!). The “Star of India” seems to be a specific cultivar of Clematis. Check this out….

Also, what a beautiful bird! I’ve never seen that type before. As I type this one of ours perched on our back porch. Maybe he…[Read more]

Great idea, you should be able to find all kinds of varieties of Clematis but to my knowledge, neither Clematis nor the bird pictured have an Indian connection.
Maybe you know something that I don’t, but isn’t that an Eastern Bluebird that is pictured? It a lovely bird, we have a family who nests in our backyard and loves live mealworms. So far…[Read more]

Sounds good. I think I can handle all that. It won’t be ideal, but I’ve learned that nothing ever is. Anything good comes with sacrifices. This all made me curious, what about the chlorine in normal tap water? Not enough to do anything? We actually have a water softener installed in our house but what if we didn’t?
Thanks again for all of…[Read more]

Thanks, buttwheat. What do you consider healed? 2 weeks-ish or 2 months-ish?

Thanks all. That’s incredibly insightful and valuable advice! I’ll be staying at my in-laws’ in Charlotte for a few days after so clean sheets won’t be a problem. I’ll still wear a loose shirt since just reading about having the sheets stick to it made my cringe.
I’ve read no pool for up to three months, until the new layer of skin completely…[Read more]
