I think it turned out much better IMO… in terms of matching the reference photo. The 1st one took your painterly looking tree and turned it in to flash art, the coverup definitely looks more like your reference pic. It’s certainly not some amazing tree, but I think he did okay matching the fuzzy tree in the reference…I think everyone is …[Read more]

Appreciate the info… I’ve got some deciding to do! I’ll upload a pic once I get something, it could be a while. Looking to have John Barrett do an Oregon inspired river/nature piece, but Lianne Moule will be in Oregon on May, so that’s who I’m considering for a rose. Although she’s only here 1 day so no guarantee that I’ll get in with her…[Read more]

All great points… thanks. I’ve been thinking about this for over a year and Silvano has always been my front runner… doesn’t help that he’s booked out 18 months and a $1000+ flight away…ha. I do like the idea of contacting multiple artists too, def wanna have them excited to take the project on. Thanks again.

Good luck nailing Russ down. I want to see the new shop….Preferably at an appt. But I’m not holding my breath.
I’m not sure exactly when I’ll get it, but sometime in the next few years. I think he goes to the Portland, OR tattoo expo, so that’s where I’d try and catch him.

I’m no expert, but I did do a laser session last year. I went to a place in the US with the most up to date technology, so I presume it’d be similar. The laser is very accurate and hits your skin in little spots. Then again, I wasn’t lasering between other pieces =). So I bet it depends on how good the person is with the laser.
I waited 3…[Read more]

You can be perfectly happy with who you are and still learn more about the topics… No matter how content you are there is always room to improve your life.
I do apologize if it came across the wrong way, as I was simply recommending some great books.

Hey I was reading the thread and had 2 books to recommend. Sorry I’m diverting away from the sexual conversation ; )

It does seem rather conceited to get a tattoo of yourself, but whatever floats your boat 😎

Eh I guess I have no need to. I love B/G, but in a neo traditional look I think the color pieces look way better. I like b/g for realistic looking pieces, but I prefer color for traditional or neo traditional tattoos. He’s had all sorts of ideas, but left off talking about getting a rose compass and a sun in b/g, seems kind of plain to…[Read more]

I’ve showed him a time of artist and he likes Nate beavers work the best. So I have been trying to find similar artist. He also wants in black and gray but I’m trying to get him to do it in color.

He likes a neo-traditional look. Derek Noble has way too much horror looking stuff and Aaron Bell isn’t quite what he was looking for either. He really liked Nate Beavers, who will be at the tattoo invitational in Oregon in Feb. However, Kyle Wood…[Read more]
