I remember him from an interview with Vice. Very cool artist!
That one is from Robert Aalbers – Clean Solid Clean Solid Tattoo | For your pain and our pleasure
Mixing ashes with ink is actually just a symbolic thing. But most people don’t realize it.
The ashes are heavier than the ink so it will just sit there on the bottom of the cup and will actually never get put in the skin.
But it’s the thought that counts.
Some progress pictures.
The tattoo studio is called Clean Solid ๐
And I specified the location ๐
I’ll take a picture of it without the filter.
Thx for the explanation. didn’t understand the tribal reference in the first comment.
I haven’t been that active on the forum so never saw people rationalize their ink in threads.
But I get what you mean. There is indeed a difference in bad ink (badly done, and bad design) and a style you don’t like (but which has been done well).

This is one of those pieces that so vividly shows how wrong people are when they cry “you people just hate it because it’s tribal”.
That’s definitely not something I’d want tattooed on me, and I don’t even like the artwork, but that is one spectacular tattoo none the less. Major respect to the artist and the wearer.
I don’t know how to react to your comment ๐
And what is that about tribal? :p
