Yep, got it the first time, you hate the idea. Way to convey the point. You might want to ease down on the generalizations though – apples and oranges. What you consider ‘not-lame’ i might consider kitsch and overdone.

It’s not a dumb question. Unfortunately, you might get some dumbass answers.
I don’t see a problem with it. Lots of Americans get Japanese, Chinese, Mexican inspired tattoos all the time even though they’ve never been to these countries or even have roots there. So go for it!

It depends on how good the artist is, and where they are in their career. In the beginning, yes, you do what you have to do to make money. However, an established artist has something to lose. Did you plan on getting a full sleeve when you got that tattoo?? I’ve seen cartoon sleeves that had different characters with really no fillers (maybe some stars??). I think the best you can do now since you don’t want it to look like 4 different tattoos or whatever, get them all together. Have a couple of them standing right behind one another.…[Read more]

Healing time is different for everybody, but usually around 4-6 weeks to fully heal.
This thread reminds me of this middle-aged guy who walked into a tattoo shop with his wife and wanted a tribal arm band and asked if it’ll be healed by the time he went on vacation to Mexico or some shit. Getting a tattoo to go on vacation… a tribal…[Read more]

It depends on where you live and the shop you go to and the artist. Some shops will charge per piece, some charge per hour.

Take those images with you when you go to the shop and talk with a 1 or 2 artists. They can usually put their own style into it.
It’s up to you to decide where you want to put it.
