As for the links. I like Johns work. Seems to have straighter lines and better technique.
I agree, with everything you posted.
I thought Johns work looked a little better as well, as far as line work and nice looking circles.
And thank you for reading and replying.
Any tattoo artist out there that can comment on the concerns I mentioned before. Does this seem like a tattoo that most any tattoo artist can tackle or should I be looking for specifics when looking through a portfolio? I know that’s kind of a dumb question because I REALLY won’t know until I make a visit but if anyone gets the chance, and has an eye for this stuff, check out the links below for these two artist that are right downtown here.
Thanx everyone for the support!

I think I’ll make some time this weekend to make a trip and meet these folks.
I also think I’m just terribly bored and want to talk tattoos with the fine people on the forums. Hehe.
Yea I feel the same about the tribal stuff as well. I sort of dig the Polynesian type tribal stuff but to me it only looks right as a sleeve or a half sleeve.
it wouldnt bother me getting that tattoo and overs having it
its the same as any other fan tattoo and at least its not flash
Thanx for the encouragement!
So does this mean if I tell you I like the Sailor Jerry ‘Flash’ pieces your going to hang me? Hehe.
On the other hand, if you have any doubts, take some time to consider what’s important to you, and try to come up with a tattoo that reflects your own way of thinking, rather than that of a stranger.
Regards,
Mark
Thanx for the great advice which I agree with.
I completely see what your saying iMark.
I respect your opinion and views on the subject.
Frankly, it doesn’t bother me that it’s ‘unoriginal’ or anything. My chances of actually running into someone else with this exact tattoo is, I’d say, pretty slim. Considering I don’t know many folks with tattoos and I don’t really “get out” or “hang out” anywhere, being a family man and all, hehe.
Besides, as I mentioned earlier, plenty of room for more art later and possibly incorporate this within something else, ya know?
Thanx for the feedback so far.
LoL, I saw that phrase on another forum where someones spouse was bitching at them about getting something.
On a serious note though, I can somewhat sympathize with the OP. I’ve been married going on 11 years now and my wife and I know how each other are, she may not care for inked skin too much but she also knows I’ll eventually get my way, so…
A healthy marriage isn’t going to end over a tattoo, well, I guess depending on what it is, hehe.
i would suggest that you post your own pic’s and not ones that are watermarked
Yea, didn’t have anything ready in mah photobucket yet. Lemme get rid of that, hehe.
No wonder your opinion is “blah”!
Just checked your profile, KILLER sleeves bro!
Oh, and good advice. Thanx! To the point! 😉
I know what you’re saying, it’s nothing as extravegant as what I’ve seen in these forums just browsing but I’m not ready for anything major yet. I just want to ease into it and stay simple. Maybe later down the road I’ll chalk up to getting a sleeve or a large back piece. God knows I’d love to have a Tom Renshaw piece but I’m not ready for it, and it’s not just the time and/or money.
I know this is nothing too exciting but it’s what I’ve thought about getting for a long time now. So ya know, screw it I’ll just do it! It’s not like I won’t have room for more later ya know? =)
I was really just curious as to why do some of these look so much different than the original? I’m assuming they did use the “trace the stencil over ones skin” method or it would be perfect, or near perfect right?
The only fear I have is heading in there to get the job done, getting some ho-hum tattooist that’s just out to make a hundred bucks and see how quick they can get it done and in the process not doing a good job because they are in a hurry or whatever.
But I guess that is an unanswerable question because it really just depends on who you go to, how well you get to know the artist and talk to them, what sort of mood they are in that day, etc, etc, the list goes on…
This one looks great actually and it’s in around the same spot I would want mine. Closer to the original than all the others if you ask me. Looks like the tattoo artist did a very fine job of staying “in the lines” and everything. All the lines look the right thickness and everything.
