Try looking at some of the horrendous reactions to pigments after a few years under the skin! especially blues and reds. There’s no regulations really to what we can put under our skin but lots of stuff to stop us putting stuff onto our skin! Oh the irony! I think once the cancers start to become more apparent with all the synthetic stuff coming…[Read more]

Hey fellas am kicking 50 this year and when i was first tattooed over thirty year ago and up until only a few years ago, (about 11yrs), nothing was used or recommended. You just put up with the itch and if you did pick at them then you would suffer the wrath of the artist for ruining his work making spaces in his ink where the scabs were picked…[Read more]

Tattoo Aftercare (TAC) http://www.tattooaftercare.co.uk I use this now for everything. As their slogan says Soothe Moisturise Maintain and it has worked for me every time. My ink has all healed in under a week and it can be used to freshen up ink before going out, moisturising the skin. It was also very good at healing up a cold sore i had in only…[Read more]

replied to the topic Is Polysporin ointment bad for tattoos? in the forum Tattoo Aftercare 15 years, 7 months ago
Anti biotoc cream should only be used if infection is there and should never be used on the first day. Check what a doctor has to say about Polysporin etc on Wikipedia. Hope this helps, keep in natural if you can and use nothing wiht paraben preservatives, they could cause you problems later in life. They may have for a lot of ppl already. ๐ฎ

Sherav, Bep has Lanolin, extracted from sheeps wool, in it. It also has a couple of waxy alcohols in it too. I wonder if it will fade ink in a few years due to the alcohols diluting the already diluted colors! Time will tell, but I suppose it will keep the artits in work having to rework their faded work! My youngest daughter, (step daughter), was…[Read more]

Yes right on Supermario! Nutural is the only way to go for me now. I found a producvt called Tattoo Aftercare (TAC) a few years back. it worked great on my inkwork and healed in under a week and it soothed my eczema too :D. I have not used steroid creams for years now since finding this stuff and they were once the norm for my skin, (I look like…[Read more]

I tried aloe neet and it was a bit harsh for my skin but it has worked wonders for a lot of people. I am a bit unsure about applying a stick over new ink as if there is any sort of mild infection which can be hard to detect in its early stages then it will be added onto the stick too, cross contanination , and i’d be reapplying infection…[Read more]

I agree with mohawk19 most artists need educating about aftercare of the skin. I my own experience i have been recommended to use hemorroid cream and nappy rash cream, WTF? My first tat tried hemorroid cream and it nipped like hell so dumped the tube and went and looked around for sumthin else that was natural. Found TAC (tattoo aftercare) on ther…[Read more]

Use a high sun factor from one of the companies that specialise in the field. They have a background and will have the best products for the job. Tattoos will fade in sunlight especially red, blue, yellow. I have experienced this first hand when I did not apply my sun screen over the years. My multi coloured tattoo went from vibrant reds yellow…[Read more]

Got to disagree with the Triple Anti Biotic Cream here. Antiboitics in any form should only be taken or applied ONLY if an infection is present. We have many bugs that live on our skin, naturally, and destroying them aint gonna help your immune system at all. There are plenty of aftercare applications out there today and many are 100% natural and…[Read more]
