solid tattoo! was it done tebori?
Thanks for the comments guys.
Yes, it was done by tebori.
I like the concept as it’s unique but yes I agree with buttwheat that the cubes are way off. You don’t even have to stare at them for a long time to know that the proportions are off, that’s the first thing I noticed.
Man that is badass bro. You are a champ to hang in there that long. I had to do the same where I did back to back 6-7 hour sessions due to travel and it hurt like hell!
I agree with a lot of people who have posted. I’m no expert by all means but I’m not sold on the torn effect either. Some of the linework is a little shaky but I like the concept.
Nice man, you put careful thought on everything, especially the waiting list situation. My first tattoo was out of a guys house at 18 and although I don’t regret it, I am going to have my artist add to it and touch it up to make it look better. This second time, there was a two year waiting list for my artist, and I got on it after my second year (of four) of grad school. When I graduated, they hit me up and it was perfect timing since I finally had the cash flow. Nice job on the planning buddy
In my humble opinion, a back piece like that shouldn’t be your first tattoo (I’m not sure if it will be) but since you planned on getting the st. michael tattoo, maybe you can do that first. Take more time and think about the back piece, if you still feel the same way, then get er done
So I got a new tattoo on friday on my ribs a bit bigger than my fist.
My artist told me originally that it would take about 1.5 hours but in the end it took 2.5 hours as my skin didnt take the tattoo well and he had to keep going over the same area again and again. He said had experienced this about 10 times in last 4 years.:(
I thought about this after and I’m on acne medication minocyline for my skin. Does anyone know if this would be the reason for my skin not taking the tattoo well?? He said it shouldn’t effect the outcome but I’m wondering if I should keep off the medication for next few weeks just in case.
Good looking tat so congrats! I am a pharmacist and I have not heard or read any literature on minocycline to affect the ink from sticking on your flesh and/or slowing the healing process. You should be good!
If those guys said the shop is legit, it will be. Most shops will give you a lot more time when you walk in there. I know it’s a bit of a drive for you but in the long run, it will be worth it. I am flying from Dallas to Cali to get mine done. I know finances can limit you but you can save up. It’s something that will on you the rest of your life so take the time and do it right.
Are you adding colour?
Thanks! He did provide a sketch with color but I thought it was too colorful for me. I am either having him do black/grey or just a few colors. He has to think about the latter since he wants to keep it traditional. I go back the first week of October. Will keep you guys posted!
